摘要： A thermal head includes a substrate, a plurality of heat generating portions, electrodes, pads, driving ICs, and a wire. The plurality of heat generating portions are positioned on the substrate and arranged in a main scanning direction. The electrodes are positioned on the substrate and electrically coupled to each of the plurality of heat generating portions. The pads are positioned on the substrate and coupled to the electrodes. The driving ICs drive the heat generating portions. The wire couples the driving ICs and the electrodes to each other. The thermal head according to the present disclosure includes a plurality of the pads. At least one of the pads is a multi pad that has a first region to which the wire is connected and a second region to which each of a plurality of probes is connected.

Moreover, the inorganic particles each comprise a first portion located inside the cover layer and a second portion located inside the protective layer.

摘要： [Object] To provide a thermal head having improved sealability.[Solution] A thermal head X1 includes a substrate 7, a heat storage layer 13 disposed on the substrate 7 and including a bulging portion 13a, heating elements 9 disposed on the bulging portion 13a, a protective layer 25 disposed on the heating elements 9, and a covering layer 27 disposed on the protective layer 25. The covering layer 27 includes a first portion 27a disposed apart from the bulging portion 13a, and a second portion 27b disposed between the bulging portion 13a and the first portion 27a. The height of the second portion 27b from the substrate 7 is smaller than the height of the first portion 27a from the substrate 7. Thus, the sealability of the thermal head X1 can be improved.

The electrode layer includes a first electrically conductive portion and a second electrically conductive portion spaced apart from each other. The resistor layer includes a heater portion that bridges the first electrically conductive portion and the second electrically conductive portion as viewed in the thickness direction of the substrate. The insulating layer includes a portion positioned between the electrode layer and the heater portion. This arrangement reduces formation of a eutectic region between the heater portion and the electrode layer.

摘要： A thermal head which is capable of reducing heat concentration on heat generation portions, and a thermal printer provided with the thermal head are provided. A thermal head includes a substrate; a plurality of heat generation portions which are disposed aligned on the substrate; electrodes which are electrically connected to the heat generation portions; and a protection layer which coats the heat generation portions and a part of the respective electrodes. The protection layer includes a first protection layer which is disposed on the heat generation portions and a second protection layer which is disposed on the first protection layer and has a higher thermal conductivity than that of the first protection layer. A width of the second protection layer is larger than that of the first protection layer when seen in an arrangement direction of the heat generation portions.
