摘要： A power generation system is provided configured for installation within a wheel of a vehicle. The system includes a stator having a plurality of face-mounted permanent magnets; and a rotor having a plurality of windings configured to rotate, with rotation of the wheel, in proximity to the permanent magnets thereby generating a current. The stator is mounted to a brake caliper of the vehicle. Also provided is a wheel-based vehicle display system including a light emitting diode (LED) array arranged on or within a wheel of a vehicle; a power source connected thereto; and a controller connected to the LED array. The display system is configured to display at least one of: textual information, visual images or full-motion video.

摘要： A wheel includes illumination built into the wheel, such as one or more LEDs disposed within the wheel itself. Unlike add-one lighting accessories, the LEDs may be integrated with the wheel to avoid disconnection from the wheel. The wheels can include a centrally located power supply and a switch. An optional cover may be disposed over the wheel. With the LEDs formed into the wheel, the optional covers may be flush with and shaped in a shape to match the wheel. The wheels may be wheels from cars, trucks, trailers, recreational vehicles, all-terrain vehicles, motorcycles and the like. When the wheel may be visible from both sides, as in the case with motorcycles, the LEDs may be disposed and integrated in both sides of the wheel.

The wheel includes a wheel central hub portion, a wheel outer peripheral rim portion, a plurality of wheel spoke portions extending between the wheel central hub portion and the wheel outer peripheral rim portion, and a plurality of wheel turbine openings disposed between adjacent ones of the plurality of wheel spoke portions. A cover portion is configured to overlie a portion of the wheel portion. The cover portion is configured to overlie one or more of the wheel central hub portion; the plurality of wheel spoke portions, and the plurality of turbine openings or the wheel outer periphery. An adhesive is disposed between an outboard surface of the wheel and the inboard surface of the cover portion to permanently secure the cover portion to the wheel portion. When the cover portion is secured to the wheel, substantial portions of the plurality of wheel spokes, the wheel central hub, or wheel outer periphery remain exposed.
