摘要： A motor drive device includes a bridge circuit 10 having a plurality of legs with switch elements 101 in upper and lower arms. High frequency AC voltage output from the bridge circuit 10, when it is connected to an AC power supply 1, is converted into a DC voltage via a transformer 21 and an AC/DC conversion circuit 11, thus charging the battery 2. Also, the DC voltage of the battery 2 is converted into an AC voltage by the bridge circuit 10 when the AC power supply 1 is cut off from the bridge circuit 10, and supplied to the alternating current motor 3. Because of this, the isolating transformer 21 can be driven at high frequency while the motor driving power conversion circuit is also used for battery charging, and a reduction in size and reduction in cost of the overall device are achieved.

摘要： Switches of a switching circuit used to control operation of an electric motor such as in an electrically powered vehicle connect respective windings of the electric motor as a single phase inductor during battery charging. The inductor can then store inherent low frequency, second order ripple power and return that power to a load presented by a battery during battery charging to deliver substantially constant current. Storage of ripple power in the inductor allows the capacitance value, size, weight and cost of a filter capacitor of a power factor correction circuit providing input power to a battery charger to be reduced by an order of magnitude or more. Direction of current flow through the inductor is periodically reversed to avoid magnetizing the motor.

摘要： The Brushless Multiphase Self-Commutation Controller or BMSCC is an adjustable speed drive for reliable, contact-less and stable self-commutation control of electric apparatus, including electric motors and generators. BMSCC transforms multiphase electrical excitation from one frequency to variable frequency that is automatically synchronized to the movement of the electric apparatus without traditional estimation methods of commutation and frequency synthesis using derivatives of electronic, electro-mechanical, and field-oriented-control. Instead, BMSCC comprises an analog electromagnetic computer with synchronous modulation techniques to first establish magnetic energy and then dynamically share packets of magnetic energy between phase windings of a multiphase, position dependent flux, high frequency transformer by direct AC-to-AC conversion without an intermediate DC conversion stage.

摘要： A driver circuit for driving an electrical motor coil is provided which comprises combined switched inductance boost voltage converter circuitry and switched inductance buck voltage converter circuitry. An input node of the driver circuit is provided to be coupled with the electrical motor coil, which provides the inductive element of both the boost and buck circuitry. Further the boost and buck circuitry share a storage capacitor, which provides the capacitive element of each circuitry, and a voltage developed across the storage capacitor by the boost circuitry forms an input of the switched inductance buck voltage converter circuitry. Bidirectional driving of the electrical motor coil is thus provided from a driver circuit which only need be supplied with a single unidirectional supply and the current drawn from that supply is significantly reduced because of the manner in which the boost and buck circuitry operate synergistically to recycle electrical power which is moved back and forth between the electrical motor coil and the storage capacitor. A corresponding driver board, electrical motor driver apparatus, method of operating a driver circuit and apparatus are also provided.
