摘要： A theft prevention device includes a security module integrated with the powered seat system. The security module is programmed to instruct the powered seat system to move the vehicle seat between an original position and a forward security position with the seat member and lumbar support member moved forward to prevent a thief from accessing the passenger compartment of the vehicle. The theft prevent device further includes a gearing mechanism linking the seat member and the lumbar support member for controlled forward movement of the lumbar support member to a fully forward position flush with a forward most position within a passenger compartment of the vehicle. The theft prevent device further includes further includes a trigger switch linked to the security module for sending a trigger event signal instructing the security module when an individual leaves the vehicle or when an individual returns to the vehicle. Initiation of the first trigger event signal causes the security module to instruct the powered seat system to move the seat member forward along the guide rails and rotate the lumbar support member forward from its original position to a forward security position, and initiation of the second trigger event signal causes the security module to instruct the powered seat system to move the seat member and lumbar support member back to their original positions.

The housing contains a normally closed switch with a transverse sliding operating bar projecting on opposite sides of the housing and being operatively engageable by the driver''s thighs to open the switch responsive to excessive lurching of the driver''s body. The switch is connected in the ignition circuit of the automobile. The housing also contains a tilt-responsive alarm switch connected in an alarm circuit to energize an alarm when the automobile is tilted for towing by an unauthorized person. Also contained in the housing is a key-operated seat lock to lock the driver''s seat in a position too close to the steering wheel for a person to occupy the seat. Releasing the seat lock also deactivates the alarm switch.

A controller is connected to the first motor, the second motor, the input device and a power source. The controller upon receiving the activation signal connects the power source to the first motor and second motor whereby the first motor moves the seat back to the fore position and the second motor moves the seat base to the fore position.

When in the forward position the seat is sufficiently close to the vehicle steering wheel that the vehicle cannot be driven. The apparatus consists of first and second double-sliding track assemblies (12), (14) that move in two increments. The first increment allows the seat to be conventionally placed in a normal driving position and the second allows the seat to be placed in the forward non-drivable position. The invention may be used in combination with a brake compression assembly (60) that includes a seat cavity (62) and a brake compression member (64). The member (64) has a back end (64b) that fits into the cavity (62) and a first end (64a) that has a cavity (64c) sized to encompass the brake pedal. When the vehicle seat (90) is placed in a forward position, the assembly (62) compresses the brake pedal to provide an additional anti-theft safeguard.

摘要： A vehicle seat assembly comprising a seat bottom, a seat bottom release, a seat back, a seat back release, and a locking assembly. Upon activation of the seat bottom release, the seat bottom can move along a seat bottom travel path in a longitudinal direction of the vehicle to a forward position close to an instrument panel of the vehicle. Upon activation of the seat back release, the seat back can pivot to a forward position close to the seat bottom. The locking assembly can operate to lock the seat bottom, the seat back, or both, in their respective forward positions such that the seat bottom, the seat back, or both, obstruct operational access to a user operational component, such as the steering wheel or glove box door, on the instrument panel.
