摘要： Methods for transitioning a braking system between primary and fallback modes are provided. A method in accordance with the present disclosure may include identifying a failure in the functionality of the primary braking system, and, upon identifying the failure, mitigating an abrupt increase in a pedal travel distance required to brake or otherwise decelerate the vehicle so as to provide smooth transition from a primary braking mode to a fallback braking mode. The mitigating the increase in the pedal travel distance may include initiating a transition to the fallback braking mode, activating at least one of a plurality of transition braking modes, and gradually increasing the pedal travel distance by deactivating at least one of the previously activated transition braking modes.

A first turning motor and a second turning motor are provided that can give a turning force to the turning output mechanism, and the first turning motor and the second turning motor are driven and controlled so that a turning angle in accordance with the steering manipulation by the driver is realized while the clutch is disconnected. When neutral position displacement occurs of the neutral position of the steering shaft and the neutral position of the pinion shaft, the stability control is suppressed.

First, the amount of regenerative braking is varied based on the degree of manipulation of an accelerator pedal within the predetermined control range of a total degree of manipulation of the accelerator pedal from when the accelerator pedal is not being manipulated. The amount of regenerative braking decreases as the degree of manipulation of the accelerator pedal increases. The control range is used to perform control in such a way as to vary the amount of regenerative braking according to the amount of manipulation of the accelerator pedal. Further, the control range is set to within a range of initial 5 to 20% of the total degree of manipulation of the accelerator pedal.
