摘要： A pharmaceutical dispenser includes a conveyor including a receiving end for receiving an article to be labelled, a discharge end for discharging the article after the article has been labelled into a dispensing container, a label applicator for attaching at least part of a label to the article whilst the article travels on the conveyor, and a resiliently deformable object for forcing at least part of the at least partially attached label onto the article. The dispensing container receives the article, as the article falls under a force of gravity from the conveyor at its discharge end into the dispensing container. The conveyor includes a dispensing opening in a front side of the pharmaceutical dispenser through which the article is accessible and removable from the dispensing container.

摘要： An improved print and apply device that receives a single data stream containing label printing/encoding data and positioning data. The single data stream may comprise data relating to the skew angle of the package. The print and apply device transmits label data to a printer/encoder portion of the system and positioning data to motors that move the system. Once the printer portion and the applicator portion have indicated they are ready, a signal is sent to apply the label. Supplemental motors can adjust the package in the X, Y, and/or Z directions until the skew angle is determined to be within an acceptable approach to zero. The label can be applied anywhere in the X, Y, and/or Z directions on a package.

The application device has a manipulator for moving the printed label from a pick-up position, in which the printed label can be transferred from the label dispensing unit to the manipulator in the dispensing direction, to a dispensing position, in which the manipulator can apply the printed label to the package, via at least one transport position. The invention also pertains to a corresponding method for labelling individual packages.

In embodiments of the invention, labeling and/or printing devices are mounted on carriages that are capable of moving in a vertical direction to apply labels as they move. Horizontal movement is imparted either by moving such carriages in a horizontal direction adjacent to the containers, or by moving the containers themselves (or the pallet holding them) in a horizontal direction adjacent to such carriages. Multiple carriages with labeling devices may be provided to provide simultaneous labeling to more than one side of a group of stacked containers. Embodiments of the invention are capable of providing labeling of containers that are uniformly or non-uniformly grouped or stacked.
