摘要： A method and system to dry crack-free and high strength skin including an inorganic binder of an average particle size (D50) in a range between 10 nm and 700 nm on a porous ceramic body. The method includes supporting the honeycomb body on an end face such that axial channels and outer periphery are substantially vertical. A gas is flowed past the honeycomb body substantially parallel to the axial channel direction, substantially equally around the outer periphery of the skin, to uniformly dry the skin to form a partially dried skin under mild conditions. Then the partially dried skin may be dried more severely resulting in rapidly dried crack-free and high strength skin.

摘要： A composite material includes, in an exemplary embodiment a polyurethane foam and a plurality of inorganic particles dispersed therein. The polyurethane foam is formed from a reaction mixture that includes a first polyether polyol having a first molecular weight and a functionality of about 3 or less, a second polyether polyol having a second molecular weight less than the first molecular weight and a functionality of greater than about 3, and at least one isocyanate. The ratio of an amount of the first polyol in the reaction mixture to an amount of the second polyol in the reaction mixture is between about 1:1 to about 5:1.

摘要： To provide a highly bio-soluble fibrous shaped refractory article which can develop desired heat resistance without containing ceramic fibers such as aluminum silicate fibers, alumina powder and silica powder and can be provided at a low production cost and a low product cost. An inorganic fibrous shaped refractory article comprising 2 to 95 mass % of bio-soluble inorganic fibers having a dissolution ratio in a physiological saline at 40° C. of 1 mass % or more, 2 to 95 mass % of inorganic powder having a needle-like crystal structure and 3 to 32 mass % of a binder, and in particular, it is an inorganic fibrous refractory article wherein the inorganic powder having the needle-like crystal structure has an average length of 1 to 3000 μm and an aspect ratio of 1 to 1000.

摘要： A method of constructing a wall to meet an applicable building code, and a wall created by this method. The method may include placing insulating concrete forms, having a cavity, where the wall is to be constructed; placing a limited quantity of metal reinforcement steel within the cavity, such that the limited quantity of reinforcing steel is insufficient to meet the applicable building code; and pouring a mix of aggregate, sand, cement, fly ash, and mineral fibers into the cavity; and allowing the mix to cure, thereby meeting the applicable building code without additional metal reinforcement. The mix may between 45 and 50% stone, between 30 and 35% sand, between 10 and 12% Portland cement, between 5 and 8% fly ash, between 1 and 2% mineral fibers, and between 0 and 1% admixtures by weight. The mix may contain mineral fibers of different grades and/or dimensions.
