    • A necktie holder is used for removal of stains. The necktie is fitted with the holder and is maintained in a flat condition and in tight tension during stain removal procedures. The holder is also used as a hanger which maintains the necktie in the same condition until it is completely dried out. The holder comprises two pieces of wire rod and a flat leaf spring. Both ends of the leaf spring are bent, and a coupler is attached on the both bent ends. The coupler receives each end of the wire rods, each wire rod being turned around to produce a leaf spring loop condition for storing resilient power. The necktie is kept flat and in tight tension by the two wire rods empowered with stored resilience of the leaf spring.

    • A substantially self-contained system and corresponding method provides practical spot cleaning of soiled garments without requiring the use of chlorinated solvents. A soiled garment may optionally be pretreated with a water base, nonchlorinated cleaner. Thereafter, a relatively high level of vacuum force is applied to the soiled garment to be cleaned while steam is directed onto the spot. The steam comprises the main cleaner when no pretreatment is used, and comprises the flushing agent whenever a water-based pretreatment cleaner is used. Drying effects obtained with the vacuum force may be augmented by the addition of compressed air directed onto the garment. A self-contained workstation practicing such methodology may include an electric water boiler for generating steam and an industrial grade vacuum pick-up with a waste collector for generating the relatively high vacuum force, preferably at least about 80 inches of mercury of static pressure.

    • A method of treating textile materials and an equipment for carrying out this method are provided, notably for dyeing miscellaneous textile materials or articles, whether woven, knitted or unwoven, of synthetic, artificial or natural origin and of various configurations. The method comprises a sequence of steps consisting in disposing the textile material to be treated on a support matching the configuration of the textile material and having at least one inner cavity in its peripheral area as well as a pervious surface contiguous to the textile material; hot-impregnating the textile material to be treated by using a dyeing solution forced through the material from the back side to the right side thereof at a predetermined temperature, and rinsing the textile material by means of a rinsing liquid forced through the material from the back side to the right side thereof during a predetermined time and at a predetermined temperature.

    • This invention relates to a method of dyeing and fixing knitted socks, stockings, panty hose or similar knitted articles of clothing of highly elastic material, preferably synthetic fibers. In this method, the articles of clothing are pulled onto flat forms and pass in succession through stations for dyeing, fixing and drying, as well as possibly preforming, rinsing and/or after-forming. In order to prevent deformations resulting from loads exerted on the knitted fabric, the articles of clothing travel, while lying approximately horizontal, through the individual treatment stations with their fibers extending in the longitudinal direction of the article of clothing. In the apparatus for the carrying out of the process, which has a plurality of flat forms onto which the articles of clothing to be treated are pulled and which, between a pulling-on and pulling-off station, are movable by a transportation device through the treatment stations, the card-shaped forms are inclined at most by an angle of 25.degree. to the horizontal but are preferably arranged horizontally on the transporation device.
