    • A support pedestal for adjustably supporting a building surface component above a fixed surface and including a base member having a base plate that is configured to be placed upon a surface, a support member having a support plate that is configured to support at least one building surface component, and an adjustment apparatus interconnecting the base member and the support member that facilitates adjustment of each of the base member and support member relative to the other of the base member and the support member in numerous manners. The adjustment apparatus includes a first connector receivable in a first receiver attached to and extending away from one of the base plate or support plate, a second connector attachable to the other of the base plate or support plate, and a shaft threadably interconnecting the base and support connectors.

    • A pedestal (10) for an access floor assembly (34) has a stand portion and a head portion. The stand portion has a base plate (12) for resting upon a sub-floor, and a metal stem (14) extending upwardly therefrom. The head portion has a platform (16) for receiving thereon an edge region of one or more panels that define the surface of the access floor, a threaded metal shaft (18) extending downwardly therefrom, and a nut (38) which screwably engages the threaded metal shaft. The pedestal (10) is characterised in that it includes a flexible member (40) having noise attenuation and vibration dampening properties adapted to fit longitudinally between overlapping portions of the metal stem (14) and the metal shaft (18) and further adapted to lock the position of the nut (38) on the threaded metal shaft (18).

    • A support structure for elevating a building surface above a fixed surface and having stability bracing to provide increased stability to the elevated building surface assembly. The support structure includes a plurality of support pedestals that are disposed in spaced-apart relation on a fixed surface. Stabilizing braces are attached to the central section of adjacent support pedestals to interconnect the support pedestals. The stabilizing braces may attach to the support pedestals using anchoring members that are anchored to the support pedestals. Interconnecting the support pedestals in such a manner creates a stable elevated building surface assembly that can be utilized in unstable environments, such as seismically active geographic areas. The support pedestals can be adjustable-height support pedestals.
