摘要： A cooling system is provided for an engine. The cooling system may have an air cooler configured to cool intake air being supplied to the engine. The cooling system may also have a sensor configured to generate a temperature signal indicative of a temperature of the intake air and a fan in proximity to the air cooler. The cooling system may further have a controller in communication with the sensor and the fan. The controller may be configured to cause the fan to operate at a speed that is a function of the temperature signal when the temperature of the intake air is above a threshold temperature. The controller may further be configured to selectively cause the fan to pulse when the temperature of the intake air drops below the threshold temperature.

摘要： A heat exchanger includes: heat exchanger bodies arranged in parallel, each allowing a fluid to be cooled to flow therethrough in one direction; a housing that forms a coolant passage that allows a coolant to flow therethrough around each of the heat exchanger bodies; a coolant inlet portion and a coolant outlet portion located in a position corresponding to first ends of the heat exchanger bodies in a flow direction of the fluid to be cooled; a separating portion that separates the coolant passages in a position corresponding to second ends of the head exchanger bodies in the flow direction of the fluid to be cooled so that a communicating portion that allows the coolant passages to communicate with each other is left; and a flow passage area increasing portion that increases a flow passage area of the communicating portion. This structure achieves good cooling performance in the heat exchanger.

摘要： A motor vehicle has a supercharged internal combustion engine arranged at the rear and can be fed cooled combustion air via a charge air cooler (7). The charge air cooler (7) is positioned above the internal combustion engine below a covering hood (4) for the internal combustion engine. The charge air (BEIN) is fed via at least one charge air inlet opening in a charge air inlet shaft (8) that adjoins the covering hood (4) and is discharged via at least one charge air outlet shaft (BAUS) that is connected to outlet openings (13, 14) in the region of a license plate recess (9) of the motor vehicle.

摘要： A vehicle cooling system includes a fan, a radiator upstream of the fan and in a first air flow path, a charge air cooler upstream of the radiator in the first air flow path, a fuel cooler upstream of the radiator in the first air flow path, and a hydraulic oil cooler adjacent to a side of the radiator and upstream of the fan and in a second air flow path which is parallel to the first air flow path. A condenser is positioned in the first air flow path between the fuel cooler and the radiator. The hydraulic oil cooler has an upstream side which is unobscured by any other cooling system components. The hydraulic oil cooler includes first and second hydraulic oil cooler units connected together in series. A portion of the hydraulic oil cooler is positioned above a top side of the radiator.

摘要： Housing for cooling air prior to introduction to an engine is provided. The housing includes a cooling chamber and an inlet chamber fluidically connected to the cooling chamber. The cooling chamber includes four side walls, a top wall and a bottom wall. The inlet chamber includes a top surface laterally extending from the top wall of the cooling chamber and an inlet disposed on the top surface. The inlet is configured to direct the air in a first direction. Further, the inlet chamber includes a bottom surface laterally extending from a side wall of the cooling chamber and disposed substantially perpendicular to the first direction at a predetermined distance from the top surface of the inlet chamber. The bottom surface is configured to turn the fluid in a second direction substantially perpendicular to the first direction prior to entering into the cooling chamber.

摘要： A heat exchanger, such as an air-to-air after-cooler assembly, having reduced and/or eliminated leakage at the tube/header joint is provided. The assembly comprises a series of tubular members formed from a first metal, each of the tubular members including an end portion and a header formed from a second metal, wherein the first metal and the second metal have similar coefficients of thermal expansions. The header includes a plurality of openings extending therethrough and each of the end portions of the tubular members is mechanically secured within corresponding openings within the header to form an after-cooler assembly. A method for forming the air-to-air after-cooler assembly is also provided.
