In one example, a system may include an adjustable intake line coupled to an inlet opening of the cylinder. 摘要： A hose assembly 20 for engine intake air comprises a hose 22 having connection regions 22a, 22b at first and second ends of the hose and an axially compressible and extendable bellows region 22c disposed between the two connection regions. In the invention, an inextensible inner tube 24 is disposed within the hose 22 which has a gas-impermeable wall. The inner tube 24 has first and second ends 24a, 24b that seal, respectively, against the first and second connection regions 22a, 22b of the hose when the bellows region is compressed. At least one of the first and second ends of the inner tube 24a separates from the adjacent connection region 22a of the hose 22 when the bellows region 22c is extended.

The air intake device also includes an air scoop that is movably coupled to the housing. The air scoop is movable between a stowed position and a deployed position. The air intake device also includes a valve assembly coupled to the air scoop. The air scoop defines at least one ram air inlet port having a flow area. The at least one ram air inlet port is positioned to receive ram air and is in fluid communication with the plenum when the air scoop is in the deployed position. The valve assembly is operable for varying the flow area of the at least one ram air inlet port.

摘要： An air cleaner for a motor vehicle includes a housing having an air inlet opening, an air outlet opening, a secondary air inlet opening and at least one peripheral wall defining a chamber therein. An air filter element is provided and received into the chamber and positioned to separate the air inlet opening from the air outlet opening. A vacuum actuated valve is provided in the secondary air inlet opening of the housing and is in communication with a secondary air portion of a dirty face of the filter element. The valve configured and adapted to automatically change from a closed to an open state when a vacuum in the housing increases to a predetermined vacuum value and then to close when the vacuum decreases below the predetermined value, thereby permitting the vehicle engine to continue to operate even though airflow in the primary air intake may be obstructed.
