A narrow fluid flow path directs a leaked fluid from the housing. A labyrinth seal constrains the leaked fluid from the narrow fluid flow path. A stationary seal constrains a flow of the leaked fluid from the labyrinth seal and a grease seal for constraining the flow of the leaked fluid from the stationary seal.

摘要： A method for shortening the start-up process of a steam turbine is provided which has a turbine housing and turbine components which are provided inside the turbine housing. The turbine components during operation come into contact with hot steam which flows through the turbine housing and include a turbine shaft which passes axially through the turbine housing. Sealing regions, which during operation of the steam turbine are acted upon by seal steam, are formed between the turbine shaft and the turbine housing. Thermal energy is fed to the steam turbine during a shutdown of said steam turbine, wherein seal steam is fed to the interior of the turbine housing during the shutdown of the steam turbine in order to heat and/or to keep warm the turbine components which are provided in the interior of the turbine housing.

The magnetic seal system includes two annular seal assemblies configured to be surrounding the shaft to rotate therewith and be axially displaceable along the shaft. 摘要： A bearing with an integral diverted lantern ring for installation into the seal cavity of a rotary mechanical device to provide a bearing surface and allow for flush fluid to engage the shaft closer to the motor end is provided. The bearing eliminates whip in a rotating shaft and is split to allow easy installation over an installed shaft. The bearing is substantially cylindrical with an inner bore closely approximating the outer diameter of the shaft. The diverted lantern ring includes an outer groove at the impeller end on the outer surface at a flush port and a groove on the inner surface at a location closer to the motor end. Flush fluid channels are provided between the outer groove and inner groove of the bearing. The purpose is to redirect the external flush from the impeller end on the OD to the motor end on the ID, thus repositioning the flush deposit on the sleeve, under the bearing. This allows the throttling characteristic of the close clearance bearing surface to increase.

摘要： A non-contacting air seal device is provided in order to reduce or minimize the ingress of external air into a fluid spray apparatus for applying a fluid coating to a moving web in a papermaking machine. The air seal device includes two air seal assemblies located in tandem with convexly curved web facing surfaces arranged offset in a direction of travel of the web and in opposing relation to one another to define an S-shaped sinusoidal path along which the web travels as it passes through the seal device and wraps a portion of each of the convexly curved web facing surface as it either enters into or exits from the fluid spray apparatus. Each air seal assembly includes a roll, a rod, or a shoe that forms the convexly curved surface over which the web passes in a non-contacting manner on an air cushion which also minimizes ingress of both ambient and boundary layer air external to the fluid spray apparatus.
