There also includes an electronic controller and shooter interface for controlling firing of a firearm in an electronic mode of firing.

The activating module (10) comprises a controller (18), an emitter (14) and a receiver (16) both optically coupled, where the controller detects an interruption of the beam of light received in the receiver (16) previously emitted by the emitter (14) and for generating, in response to said interruption, a trigger signal to actuate the actuating module (12) and shoot the weapon. Different embodiments are disclosed with and without triggers as well as variations in the configuration of the emitter-receiver pair.

The module includes a finger extension which engages the trigger and is powered by a compact motor such as an electrically driven solenoid. 摘要： A system for firing shell-cased projectiles including multiple barrels and a breech assembly, which includes multiple detonators each aligned to a corresponding one of the barrels. Each detonator may include a plunger coupled to a firing pin, and a solenoid for driving the plunger and firing pin toward the corresponding barrel upon firing, and an actuator-driven mechanical safety device including a slide plate switchable between first and second lateral positions. The slide plate may include multiple entrapment pins, each corresponding to one of the detonators. When the slide plate is in the first lateral position, each of the entrapment pins are positioned so as to obstruct movement of the plunger in the corresponding detonator, thereby rendering the corresponding detonator inoperable to fire even if the corresponding solenoid is actuated. On the other hand, when the slide plate is in the second lateral position, each of the detonators is operable to fire when the corresponding solenoid is actuated.
