    • The method serves for adjusting a positioning of a longitudinal axis of a weapon barrel. An adjusting angle of the weapon barrel is changeable by at least one adjusting element. The weapon barrel is arranged so as to be movable relative to a weapon support in the direction of the longitudinal axis. A positioning of the weapon barrel relative to the weapon support is determined by measurement technology. The measurement values obtained as a result are supplied to a control device. The control device acts on the adjusting element in accordance with a predetermined functional relationship between the obtained measurement values and an input value for the adjusting element.     • A gimbaled weapon system (GWS) is disclosed having a sighting system, a control unit, a weapon cradle and an operator interface for the GWS located remotely from the weapon cradle and the sighting system. The weapon cradle is elevated using a first elevation drive. The weapon cradle is co-located with the sighting system as a unit in the GWS. The GWS includes a second elevation drive elevating the sighting system independently of the elevation of the weapon cradle by the first elevation drive. A network of multiple, mobile target sensors located remotely from the GWS provide coordinates or location of a target to the control unit of the GWS.

    • A system for pointing a device at a given target has a sensor for sensing a number of positional information points of the target with the sensor relaying the positional information points to a controller. The controller is for computing a directional control information based on the relayed positional information points. The system also has an adjustment device for moving the device in a direction that bears a predetermined relationship to the target in response to the computed direction control information. The target moves and the sensor senses the positional information of the target and the sensor relays the positional information to the controller with the controller computing the directional control information to control the adjustment device. The adjustment device points the device at the target.
