摘要： In a spark-ignition internal combustion engine having multiple cylinders, successive segment time periods assigned to the individual cylinders during working strokes thereof, and subsequently irregular running values are determined from the segment time periods. In a predefined speed range of the engine, the irregular running values of the cylinders are compared with a predefined threshold, and suspected auto-ignition for a first cylinder is detected if the irregular running value of a second cylinder located before the first cylinder in terms of timing of the ignition sequence undershoots the threshold. Fuel to the first cylinder suspected of auto-ignition is interrupted for a predefined number of cycles, and the fuel interruption influence on the irregular running values of the second cylinder during the cycles is detected. The suspected auto-ignition of the first cylinder is either confirmed or rejected based on the irregular running values occurring at the second cylinder.

摘要： In order to solve a problem that in an internal combustion engine in which abnormal combustion (knocking or an accidental fire) of an engine is detected from an ion signal, the setting of an abnormal combustion determination threshold value under a transient condition in which an engine operating state abruptly changes is difficult to thereby cause erroneous determination, the present invention is an engine control device provided with an ion signal detection means for detecting ions generated during combustion, and provided with an abnormal combustion determination means for determining knocking or an accidental fire according to an ion signal detected by the detection means, the engine control device being characterized by being provided with an in-cylinder temperature estimation means for estimating the in-cylinder temperature in a normal combustion cycle under a current operating condition of the engine, and by setting the knocking determination threshold value or accidental fire determination threshold value of the ion signal on the basis of the estimated in-cylinder temperature information. Consequently, it becomes possible to accurately detect abnormal combustion even under a transient operating condition.

摘要： A spark ignition internal combustion engine includes: a compression ratio changing mechanism by which a volume of a combustion chamber varies; a cylinder internal pressure sensor that acquires a pressure signal of a pressure vibration inside a cylinder; and an abnormal combustion detector including a filter that passes the pressure signal, of a set frequency band among the pressure signal, and detecting an occurrence of abnormal combustion based on the pressure signal having passed through the filter. The abnormal combustion detector sets a frequency band of the filter based on a crank angle section in which abnormal combustion occurs and on a mechanical compression ratio.

摘要： When a maximum value of vibration intensity (maximum vibration intensity)(Vmax) acquired from a vibration sensor (33) in a low engine speed/high engine load (operating region (R)) is equal to or greater than a given threshold value (X), a spark timing of a spark plug (16) is shifted from a point set in a normal state on a retard side with respect to a compression top dead center, farther toward the retard side. Then, when a maximum vibration intensity (Vmax2) acquired after the spark timing retard is greater than a maximum vibration intensity (Vmax1) acquired before the spark timing retard, it is determined that preignition occurs. This technique makes it possible to reliably detect preignition using the vibration sensor, while distinguishing the preignition from knocking. An in-cylinder pressure sensor for detecting an in-cylinder pressure of an engine may be used to determine the presence or absence of the preignition, in the same manner.
