    • Systems, methods, and apparatus are provided for detecting improperly sealed portions of sealed packages. For example, in one embodiment, a package leak detection system automatically provides pressure within a tank for a predetermined period of time. The tank is at least partially filled with colored fluid with a sealed package being at least partially submerged in the colored fluid. In the tank, the pressure inside the tank forces the colored fluid into improperly sealed portions of the sealed package. After the predetermined period of time has elapsed, the package leak detection system automatically shuts off the package leak detection system and releases the pressure within the tank so the sealed package can be inspected for potential leaks.

    • A tool for assisting the leak testing of an enclosed volume is disclosed. The tool may comprise an outer seal defining inside its perimeter an attachment face of the tool. A vacuum port defined in the attachment face is configured to be fluidly coupled to a vacuum source. A nozzle disposed in the attachment face may be coupled to the test port, in fluid communication with the enclosed volume. A primary connection in fluid connection with the nozzle may be placed in fluid connection with the external conduit. A nozzle seal is disposed in the attachment face around the perimeter of the nozzle, such that when the nozzle is coupled to the test port, the nozzle is fluidly isolated from said vacuum port. A leak-test system incorporating at least one tool and a method for leak testing an enclosed volume using the tool are disclosed.

The invention also pertains to a leak-testing device for a test container comprising an atmospheric-pressure chamber (5) intended to receive a test container (3), comprising a volatile organic compound trace sensor (7) with a fluid connection to the chamber (5), a decontamination means, and a processing unit (9) capable of comparing the measurement results of said sensor (7) in order to provide information on the leakproofness of said test container and capable of implementing the testing method as described above.

    • A system for detecting leaks in a unit. The novel system includes a first mechanism for injecting a first gas into an interior or an exterior of the unit, a second mechanism for sampling gas from an exterior or an interior of the unit to determine if the first gas has leaked out of or into the unit, respectively, and a third mechanism for controlling a differential pressure between the interior and exterior of the unit during sampling. In an illustrative embodiment, the differential pressure is controlled by injecting a second gas into the exterior or interior of the unit to replace the sampled gas, and using pressure regulators to control the pressures of the first and second gases such that the differential pressure remains constant during sampling.
