摘要： A method for inspecting an additive manufacturing process in which a directed energy source is used to create a weld pool at an exposed build surface of a mass of powdered material, and selectively fuse the powdered material to form a workpiece. The inspection method includes: using a noncontact method to generate an acoustic wave in the build surface; using a noncontact method to measure displacement of the build surface in response to the acoustic wave; and determining at least one sub-surface material property of the workpiece by analyzing the displacement of the build surface.

摘要： An ultrasound device for examining a component may include a measuring device for performing an ultrasonic measurement of the component and an analysis device. The ultrasound device may be designed to quantify structural elements, such as defects, in the component. For this purpose, the analysis device may be designed to determine a number and a respective position of at least one internal structural element of the component as a function of the ultrasonic measurement data from the measuring device using a reconstruction method, and to use a simulator to determine at least one character of each structural element by simulating the ultrasound measurement and adapting each model as a function of each ascertained position using a respective model for the at least one structural element.

摘要： Devices are disclosed for obtaining data of a sample, particularly data capable of being processed to produce an image of a region of the sample. An exemplary device includes a light-beam source, an acoustic-wave source, an optical element, and an acoustic detector. The optical element is transmissive to a light beam produced by the light-beam source and reflective to acoustic waves produced by the acoustic-wave source. The optical element is situated to direct the transmitted light beam and reflected acoustic wave simultaneously along an optical axis to be incident at a situs in or on a sample to cause the sample to produce acoustic echoes from the incident acoustic waves while also producing photoacoustic waves from the incident light beam photoacoustically interacting with the situs. The acoustic detector is placed to receive and detect the acoustic echoes and the photoacoustic waves from the situs. The acoustic detector can comprise one or more hydrophones exploiting the acousto-electric effect.
