摘要： In a positioning augmentation device (40), a plan making unit (84) selects a subset satisfying selection conditions from within a candidate set that is a set of satellites being selection candidates and saves plan data (43) indicating the selected subset in a memory (72). A plan alteration unit (85) acquires integrity information indicating quality of a positioning signal transmitted from each satellite and detects a satellite of which the quality of the positioning signal does not satisfy quality conditions, from within the subset selected by the plan making unit (84), based on the acquired integrity information. The plan alteration unit (85) replaces the detected satellite in the subset with another satellite included in the candidate set. A message generation unit (87) makes satellites, included in the subset indicated by the plan data (43) saved in the memory (72) among the satellites included in the candidate set, objects of positioning augmentation and generates a message (41) for distribution of augmentation information to be used for the positioning augmentation.

摘要： A position is determined using GNSS (Global Navigation Satellite Systems) with an antenna assembly having a number of antennas that are oriented with different direction vectors. Antenna-received signals are supplied to an evaluation assembly, which includes GNSS receivers and an evaluation device. The antenna-received signals are detected with regard to their satellite-related signal-to-noise ratio and, in relation to each satellite, the satellite-specific signal-to-noise ratio measured values that are positively distinguished in their signal-to-noise ratio from other signal-to-noise ratio measured values relating to the same satellite are selected. A satellite-related main direction vector signal is formed from each of the direction vector signals of the antennas. The main direction vector signals are compared with the orientation vector signals that characterize the position of the respective satellites in orbit; in the event of minor deviations a position indication is given.

The user terminal is operable for: broadening a field of regard of the reconfigurable phased array antenna; receiving signals from a plurality of satellites within the field of regard using the reconfigurable phased array antenna; determining one or more attributes of the received signals for each of the satellites; and selecting one of the plurality of satellites for communication based on the attributes of the received signals. After the satellite has been selected, the user terminal is configured for: switching to a directional mode for the reconfigurable phased array antenna; establishing the communication with the selected satellite using the reconfigurable phased array antenna; and tracking the selected satellite. Ephemeris data broadcast by the satellites is used by the user terminal to track the satellites and to perform handovers between satellites.

The antenna array comprises a plurality of antenna elements arranged as at least one of a non-planar array, a non-contiguous distributed array or both. The antenna elements produce a plurality of element signals. The digital beam-forming processor is coupled to the antenna array, and is configured to receive the element signals, process the received element signals using a plurality of beam weighting vectors, and generate a plurality of concurrent shaped beams. A first shaped beam of the concurrent shaped beams comprises a null at a first direction to reject a first signal from a first navigation satellite. A second shaped beam of the concurrent shaped beams comprises a null at a second direction to reject a second signal from a second navigation satellite.

摘要： Accurate position capability can be quickly provided using a Wireless Local Area Network (WLAN). When associated with a WLAN, a wireless device can quickly determine its relative and/or coordinate position based on information provided by an access point in the WLAN. Before a wireless device disassociates with the access point, the WLAN can periodically provide time, location, and decoded GPS data to the wireless device. In this manner, the wireless device can significantly reduce the time to acquire the necessary GPS satellite data (i.e. on the order of seconds instead of minutes) to determine its coordinate position.

摘要： A mobile device adjusts the extents to which it depends on various satellites to estimate its global position based on the predicted probability for each such satellite that a ray extending from that satellite to the mobile device is obstructed by a building. The mobile device can predict the probabilities of building obstructions based on a digital model of the environment in which the mobile device is estimated to be. The mobile device weights the extent of uncertainty for each satellite's global positioning data based on the predicted probability of obstruction for that satellite. Using these weighted uncertainties, the mobile device selects the extents to which it relies on each satellite's global positioning data when estimating the mobile device's current global position.
