摘要： A rollable optical fiber ribbon includes a plurality of optical transmission elements, wherein each optical transmission element includes an optical core surrounded by a cladding of a different refractive index than the optical core, the cladding surrounded by a fiber coating layer, the fiber coating layer having an inner surface contacting the cladding and an outer surface defining an exterior surface of the optical transmission elements; and a coupling element coupled to and supporting the plurality of optical transmission elements in an array. The coupling element forms a chevron pattern and is formed from a flexible polymeric material such that the plurality of optical transmission elements are reversibly movable from an unrolled position in which the plurality of optical transmission elements are substantially aligned with each other to a rolled position.

摘要： A fiber optic cable assembly includes a distribution cable and a tether cable. The distribution cable includes a jacket having a generally flat profile such that the periphery of the distribution cable, when viewed in cross-section, includes two major surfaces of the jacket that are generally flat and are connected by arcuate end surfaces of the jacket. The jacket defines a cavity therein. Further, the distribution cable includes strength members embedded in the jacket and positioned on opposing sides of the cavity. The distribution cable includes a plurality of optical fibers extending through the cavity. The tether cable includes an optical fiber that is fusion spliced to one of the optical fibers of the distribution cable by way of an opening in a side of the jacket of the distribution cable.

摘要： An optical fiber connector according to the present disclosure includes a fiber ferrule, a spring, a coil spring seat and a spring push. An opening extends through the front end of the spring. The spring seat includes two first tooth portions and two second tooth portions. The spring seat has opposing front and rear surfaces. The front surface of the spring comes in contact with the fiber ferrule. An opening extends through the rear surface of the spring. The first tooth portions extend from the rear surface and the respective first tooth portion has a first inner surface and a first outer surface. The first outer surface is a curved surface. The second tooth portions extend from the rear surface and the respective second tooth portion has a second inner surface and a second outer surface. The second outer surface is a curved surface. The first and second tooth portions extend into the opening of the spring and the convex surfaces thereof come in contact with the inner sides of the spring. The spring push comes in contact with the rear end of the spring to push the spring toward the spring seat.

A guided portion of the array of optical fibers is positioned in the fiber accommodating grooves of the V-groove chip and the V-groove chip is secured to the second anti-recovery plate such that the fiber accommodating grooves and a fiber guiding face of the first anti-recovery plate are fixed at a relative angle θ approximating the bend in the array of optical fibers.
