摘要： A liquid crystal cell including at least two substrates transparent to visible part of light spectrum, a liquid crystal layer encased between the substrates, and a stack of functional layers formed over the substrates and enclosed between a given substrate and the liquid crystal layer. In a direction from the given substrate towards the liquid crystal layer, said stack comprises a first dielectric layer, a transparent electrode layer, and a second dielectric layer. A refractive index of the first dielectric layer lies in a range between a refractive index of the given substrate and a refractive index of the transparent electrode layer. A refractive index of the second dielectric layer lies in a range between the refractive index of the transparent electrode layer and a refractive index of the liquid crystal layer corresponding to a homeotropic alignment of a liquid crystal material of the liquid crystal layer.

摘要： The present invention provides a COA substrate and a fabricating method thereof as well as a display device, and relates to the field of display technology, which solves the problem of a relatively large parasitic capacitance to be generated between the data line and the common electrode layer because the common electrode layer is formed on the black matrix directly in the existing technical solution, avoids signal delay, and improves the image display quality of the display. The COA substrate comprises: a black matrix, a color filter, a common electrode layer and an organic insulating film layer formed on the black matrix, the common electrode layer is formed on the organic insulating film layer, the organic insulating film layer is arranged on the color filter and covers the position of the color filter; the material of the organic insulating film layer is an organic insulating material having a relative dielectric constant less than 10. The present invention is applied in the fabricating technology of a display device.

摘要： A totally internally reflective image display having a first electrically charged particle and a second electrically charged particle of opposite charges are disclosed. By applying a non-zero voltage the particles are moved such that they frustrate total internal reflection and create a dark state. By applying a zero voltage and/or voltage pulsing, light is totally internally reflected to create a light state. The display is DC balanced and compatible with common drive electronics. Multi-colored displays may be created using first and second particles with different optical characteristics.

摘要： A display may have a color filter layer and a thin-film transistor layer. A layer of liquid crystal material may be located between the color filter layer and the thin-film transistor (TFT) layer. The TFT layer may include thin-film transistors formed on top of a glass substrate. A passivation layer may be formed on the thin-film transistor layers. A first low-k dielectric layer may be formed on the passivation layer. Data line routing structures may be formed on the first low-k dielectric layer. A second low-k dielectric layer may be formed on the first low-k dielectric layer. A common voltage electrode and associated storage capacitance may be formed on the second low-k dielectric layer. The first and second low-k dielectric layers may be formed from material having substantially similar refractive indices to maximize backlight transmittance and may have appropriate thicknesses so as to minimize parasitic capacitive loading.

摘要： An acousto-optic device capable of increasing a range of a diffraction angle of output light by using a nanostructured acousto-optic medium, and an optical scanner, an optical modulator, a two-dimensional/three-dimensional (2D/3D) conversion stereoscopic image display apparatus, and a holographic display apparatus using the acousto-optic device. The acousto-optic device may include a nanostructured acousto-optic medium formed by at least two different mediums repeatedly alternating with each other, wherein at least one of the at least two different mediums includes an acousto-optic medium. The acousto-optic device having the aforementioned structure may increase the range of a diffraction angle of output light. Thus, various systems such as the optical scanner, the optical modulator, the 2D/3D conversion stereoscopic image display apparatus, and the holographic display apparatus may not require a separate optical system to increase an operational angle range, thereby decreasing a size of the system and/or improving a resolution of the system.

The absorptive material layer may have a variable light absorption coefficient to allow intensity of light to be modulated through modulation of the absorption coefficient.
