The modified query can then be used to retrieve data from one or several tables identified within the query.

For example, for a database query, a query engine generates query code in an imperative language (such as a procedural, scripting language) based on query code in a declarative language (such as a structured query language). The query engine can embed the imperative-language query code in an intermediate representation of the database query, which is executed by the DBMS. In many instances (e.g., for non-linear operations of a database query), the imperative-language query code can be executed by the DBMS more quickly and efficiently than the original declarative-language query code. The DBMS returns results of the execution of the database query.

The database engine may not have access to keys used to protect the underlying fields within the database, such as by encryption, while the database access system may have access to the keys. Underlying fields may be used to store protected data and aid in the querying of protected data. The database access system may modify queries to use the underlying fields, which may include encrypting query terms and/or modifying query terms to fit the use of the underlying fields. The database access system may modify query results to match the format of the original query, which may include decrypting protected results and/or removing underlying fields.

摘要： A method, system and computer program product for processing hierarchical data is provided. A method for processing hierarchical data in a relational database includes receiving an input parameter in an initial query for querying an array in a hierarchical data object stored in a table of a relational database, and transforming the initial query into a transformed query configured to place all elements of the array into a different table and to apply a sub-query against the table for the input parameter. Once transformed, predicate evaluation logic of a relational engine of the relational database is applied to the transformed query that is then mapped to the initial query. Finally, responsive to receiving a subsequent instance of the initial query, the mapping is referred to in order to replace the initial query with the transformed query and to subsequently apply the predicate evaluation logic to the transformed query.

摘要： A system to collect and analyze performance metric data recorded in time-series measurements, converted into unicode, and arranged into a special data structure. The performance metric data is collected by one or more probes running on machines about which data is being collected. The performance metric data is also organized into a special data structure. The data structure at the server where analysis is done has a directory for every day of performance metric data collected with a subdirectory for every resource type. Each subdirectory contain text files of performance metric data values measured for attributes in a group of attributes to which said text file is dedicated. Each attribute has its own section and the performance metric data values are recorded in time series as unicode hex numbers as a comma delimited list. Analysis of the performance metric data is done using regular expressions.

Aspects of an embodiment of the present invention include an approach for semantically translating data, wherein the approach includes a processor selecting a first node. A processor identifies a parent node of the first node. A processor determines that a value of the first node is unknown. A processor identifies a common table expression of the first node. A processor determines that the common table expression of the first node matches, within a predetermined threshold, a common table expression of the second node. For each image in the plurality of images, that image and each remaining image from the plurality is compared by: applying each similarity rule to the image and a remaining image from the plurality to obtain a numeric result, and recording the numeric result for the pair of images in a numeric representation, the numeric representation embodying similarities. The numeric representation is used as a reference for clustering the plurality of images into clusters of similar images, and each image is stored with a marker denoting a cluster to which it has been assigned.
