摘要： A payment card comprises a supporting body with a controller provided with an inner memory in which identification data of a user and the issuing institution are stored. In addition the card provides a connection interface combined with the controller for the connection with an outside device. The connection interface is a connection port incorporating a male portion and a female portion arranged, one with respect to the other, according to a specific layout rendering such a port a “hermaphrodite” port, that is able to couple with a port having an identical geometry. The convection port further comprises a plurality of electric contact elements combined with the male portion and/or the female portion. A method referring to virtual transfer of money between two payment cards is further described.

摘要： The invention provides a chip-and-PIN reader device, which includes a slot for a chip card and a plurality of keys including numeric keys 0-9 and possibly an enter key and a restart key. The enter key is used to indicate to the device that the PIN has been fully entered and the restart key is used to indicate to the device that a mistake has been made in entering the PIN and that the PIN is to be re-entered. A set of electrodes is provided for making contact with corresponding electrodes on the chip card. A reading means connected to the set of electrodes reads the entered PIN and the card-number data stored on the chip. A comparing means compares the PIN entered by the user with the PIN stored on the chip and provides a signal indicative of a wrong entered PIN. A restart means is provided, which allows the PIN to be re-entered. If the correct PIN is entered, then an encryption means encrypts the card-number data and a wireless transmitter transmits the encrypted card-number data to a mobile communications device. The reader device may also be equipped to read a magnetic-strip type card.
