摘要： Example embodiments of systems and methods for data transmission between a contactless card and a receiving application are provided. The transmitting device may include a processor, memory, and communication interface. A receiving application may include instructions for execution on a receiving device having a processor, a memory, a communication interface configured to create a communication field for data communication with the transmitting device, and one or more sensors. Upon movement of the transmitting device, the receiving application is configured to receive, via one or more sensors, feedback information associated with the transmitting device, display one or more instructions regarding the position of the transmitting device relative to the receiving device until the transmitting device enters the communication field. Upon entry into the communication field, the transmitting device is configured to transmit data to the receiving device.

摘要： Card readers with adaptive magnetic head assemblies are disclosed. According to one embodiment, a card reader may include chassis comprising a card slot that receives a portion of a magnetic stripe card; a card guiding element positioned in a card path defined by the card slot and that interacts with a datum edge of the magnetic stripe card, at least a portion of the card guiding element being rotatable relative to the card path; and a magnetic reading head provided on the card guiding element that reads a magnetic stripe on the magnetic stripe card. The card guiding element and the magnetic reading head rotate relative to the card path in response to the datum edge of the magnetic stripe card applying a force to the card guiding element, thereby substantially maintaining an alignment between the magnetic stripe and the magnetic reading head.

摘要： A system and method for calibrating a barcode scanning tunnel comprises providing a scanning tunnel having a moveable surface, a camera, and a dimensioning device. Orientations of the dimensioning device and camera are estimated. Instances of a calibration object on the moveable surface are acquired by the dimensioning device and the camera, and a relationship is defined between the two devices. A calibration object is moved along the moveable surface through the devices' fields of view, controlling the camera's focal distance according to the relationship, so that the dimensioning device and the camera acquire instances of the calibration object, and the relationship is revised.

An image capture device may be used to automatically detect the two-dimensional machine-readable output appearing in the diagnostic device. A computational device may be used to automatically determine whether the presence or absence of the first characteristic and/or the second characteristic based on the two-dimensional machine-readable output displayed in the diagnostic device.

Tube holders can also include reflective surfaces or mechanical mechanisms to allow the tube to be rotated such that reading a barcode does not require a strict initial orientation of the tube when placed in the tube holder. Arrays of tubes can include optical guides to allow barcodes to be read by an external imaging device.

The smartcard unit or the reader unit has a retainer to secure the reader unit in alignment relative to the smartcard so that the smartcard unit is reversibly separable from the reader unit without damage, in response to a force less than is necessary to detach or damage another part of said system, other than along a longitudinal axis of the smartcard or of a pair of components being separated.
