摘要： A disc drive has an opening portion for inserting a disc. The disc drive includes a driving unit, a moving member, a traverse, a disc positioning structure and a restoring structure. When the disc is intended to be clamped on the traverse, the driving unit drives the moving member to move the traverse to a disc holding position to clamp the disc; and the moving member moves the disc positioning structure to a disc release position so that the disc positioning structure does not contact the disc. When the disc is intended to be released from the traverse, the driving unit drives the moving member to move the traverse to a disc unloading position to unload the disc; and the restoring structure moves the disc positioning structure to a disc loading position to support the disc.

摘要： A simplified disc-clamping mechanism is provided to decrease the number of parts and processes of the assembly of a disc-clamping mechanism. The disc-clamping mechanism has a clamping plate sandwiching a disc by cooperating with a turntable, and a clamp base rotatably holding the clamping plate. The clamping plate has a surface plate pressing a disc toward the turntable, a small-radius body portion having an outer diameter smaller than that of the surface plate portion, and a flange portion protruding more than an end portion in an axial direction of the small-radius body portion and being parallel to the surface plate portion. The clamp base is integrally formed while including a thin-plate shaped holding portion, a stopper piece, and a bent portion which extends from the holding portion.

摘要： A disk drive includes a cartridge holding mechanism which has a small size and reduces a damper load. The disk drive includes a spindle motor which mounts and rotates a disk. A traverse base holds the spindle motor, and a rubber damper flexibly holds the traverse base. A mechanical chassis holds the traverse base through the rubber damper, and a tray mounts a cartridge in which a disk is housed. A loading motor moves the disk in the cartridge close to the spindle motor or away from the spindle motor. The cartridge is supported by the mechanical chassis through the tray.
