摘要： A disc device according to the present disclosure is a disc device for supplying a disc to each of a plurality of disc drives, and includes a carrier for retaining a plurality of discs in a stacked state, for separating one disc from the retained plurality of discs above a tray that is ejected from an arbitrary disc drive, and for placing the separated one disc on the tray. The carrier includes a first support claw that is capable of moving forward and backward below the plurality of discs, a second support claw that is capable of moving forward and backward into and out of a gap between a bottom disc and a disc that is adjacent to the bottom disc, among the plurality of discs, and a separation claw that is capable of moving forward and backward into and out of the gap and of pushing the bottom disc downward, where the bottom disc is separated from the retained plurality of discs by moving the first support claw, the second support claw, and the separation claw forward and backward, and pushing the bottom disc downward by the separation claw.

The disc cartridge includes a casing having a front face with an opening for receiving the disc; and a cover closing the opening of the casing. The cover includes a slider moving along a side face of the casing, a shutter closing the opening; and a hinge part rotatably coupling the shutter to the slider. The disc device includes a stopper contacting the slider when the disc cartridge is inserted into the disc device to restrict movement of the slider in an insertion direction, and a cam part separating the hinge part from a contact region between the shutter and the casing when or before the casing further moves with the stopper restricting movement of the slider and the shutter is pressed by the casing to rotate about the hinge part.

A media cartridge is described that confines a plurality of optical disk and utilizes a mechanical lockout mechanism to release the optical disk while preventing a user from inserting unauthorized optical disk into the media cartridge. The mechanical lockout mechanism may use a securing arm and rack, a securing member and locking member, or a plurality of biased fingers to lockout the optical disk. In addition, a cartridge identification tag (CID) may be used to recognize the media cartridge, and a medium identification tag (MID) may be used to recognize the optical disk. By preventing unauthorized optical disk from being used for duplication, the system may ensure that any duplicated optical disk is consistent in quality.
