摘要： A computing device for processing a video file. The video file comprises an audio track and contains at least one event comprising a scene of interest. One or more audio criteria that characterize the event are used to detect events using the audio track and an offset timestamp is recorded for each detected event. A set of offset timestamps may be produced for a set of detected events of the video file. The set of offset timestamps for the set of detected events may be used to time align and time adjust a set of real timestamps for a set of established events for the same video file. A user interface (UI) is provided that allows quick and easy search and playback of events of interest across multiple video files.

The method includes identifying a time code break in a plurality of time codes of a video by having a computing device examine the plurality of time codes of the video. The method also includes determining whether a first portion of the video located before the time code break and a second portion of the video located after the time code break are part of a continuous video segment by having a computing device examine the expected time code of the first frame of the second portion of the video and a location of the second portion of the video with respect to a location of the first portion of the video. A computer readable medium stores a set of computer executable instructions for performing the method.

A skip time acquisition unit 614 determines, based on the number of seconds of the recording starting time acquired by the time confirmation unit 612, a period of time to be skipped upon cue playback of the recorded content of the playback target.

An input acceptance processing unit 352 supplies an accepted cue-up instruction to a cue-up processing unit 355. The cue-up processing unit 355 identifies the File Time Code (FTC) of a frame to be cued up, referring to the LTC change point table 361 held in the holding unit 354, and supplies this information to a control unit 351. Based on the information, the control unit 351 creates cue-up command information and supplies it through a command processing unit 356 to a disk recording/playback apparatus which displays a frame image of a frame to be cued up onto a monitor. The invention can be applied to an editing system.
