    • A switch includes: a hermetic vessel filled with an insulating medium; an insulating spacer dividing the hermetic vessel into a first heretic space and second heretic space; an electrode fixedly penetrating through the insulating spacer; and a first circuit breaker part inserted between a first conductor and the electrode in the first hermetic space and serially connecting a second conductor in the second heretic space in a closed state, and having a first contact including the electrode and a first driver driving the first contact. The first circuit breaker part is a vacuum circuit breaker having the first contact housed in a vacuum vessel and a second circuit breaker part having the second contact larger in dielectric strength than in the vacuum circuit breaker. In an interrupting operation from the closed state, the first contact and the second contact are opened, and the first contact is closed when or after the second contact is opened.

    • The hybrid-type interrupter device for high or medium voltage comprises: a casing filled with a dielectric gas; a vacuum interrupter having a first arcing contact which is fixed and a second arcing contact which can be moved in translation in the axial direction of the casing; means provided to exert a certain force on the second contact while the vacuum interrupter is allowing current to pass; a gas interrupter having a third arcing contact which is fixed and a fourth arcing contact which can be moved in translation; and a drive rod connected to the fourth contact. The device further comprises: connection means electrically interconnecting the second and third contacts, and capable of being moved in translation together with the second contact; displacement means connected to the connection means and to the rod for displacing them so as to separate the second and fourth contacts from the first and third contacts respectively, said displacement means comprising dead-stroke link means which make it possible to displace the rod over a determined dead stroke while also acting on the connection means to keep the vacuum interrupter closed during this displacement.

    • A hybrid circuit interrupter is provided, having a set of contacts in a vacuum environment and another set of contacts in an insulating fluid, such as oil, or gas or the like, environment connected in series and disposed in one compact enclosure. During closing the contacts in the insulating liquid or gas are closed after the contacts in the vacuum have closed. During an opening operation the contacts in the vacuum chamber separate first and then the contacts in the chamber containing the insulating fluid or gas separate. Thus, the circuit is completed in the insulating liquid or gas environment and the circuit is opened in the vacuum environment. With the hybrid circuit interrupter fully opened two serially related gaps are provided in the circuit interrupter. One of the contacts in the chamber containing the insulating fluid or gas is rigidly mechanically connected to one of the contacts in the vacuum chamber. A single operating stroke opens or closes the hybrid circuit interrupter. The contacts used in the vacuum chamber can be constructed from material having low chopping characteristics so that high voltages are not induced in the electrical circuit during interruption. The contacts used in the chamber containing the insulating fluid, such as oil or gas, can be constructed from material having good non-welding characteristics so as not to weld upon interrupter closing and to be easily opened without the use of complicated and expensive weld breaking mechanisms.
