    • A terminating apparatus for terminating a plurality of wires of a cable to a plurality of connection terminations of a communication module, the communication module comprises at least one upright walls each provided with at least one receiving slots for receiving the connection terminations each of which is electrically connected with one wire. The terminating apparatus comprises: at least one terminating portion into which the upright walls of the communication module are able to be inserted, each terminating portion separately holding the plurality of wires of the cable; and at least one cutting apparatus mounted in the terminating portions outside the receiving slot of the communication module and constructed to cut off parts of the wires which extend out the receiving slots after the wires are terminated to the connection terminations of the communication module. The wires may be easily and quickly terminated to the communication module. External protection layers of the wires are pierced and conductors of the wires are electrically connected to the communication module during terminating the wires. It does not need to peel off the external protection layers of the wires before terminating the wires.

    • A compression tool for terminating wires to a connector includes a frame that has a receiving space configured to receive the connector. A handle is rotatably coupled to the frame. A ram is held by the frame. The ram has an engagement end within the receiving space that is configured to engage the connector. The ram is movable between an initial position and a final position. A link is coupled between the ram and the handle. The link is variably positionable with respect to at least one of the handle or the ram to change the final position of the ram within the receiving space to control a shut height of the compression tool.

    • A wire positioning tool is provided having a handle and a positioning member operably coupled to the handle. The positioning member has a plurality of notches, and a wire retention member is retractably slidingly coupled to the handle between a load position and an unload position. The wire retention member has a plurality of wire engagement slots, wherein in the load position, the wire retention member selectively secures each of the plurality of wires in a respective one of the plurality of wire engagement slots. When placed in the unload position, the wire retention member is retracted with respect to the positioning member, therein transferring the plurality of wires from the wire retention member to a plurality of terminals of a termination block via the plurality of notches in the positioning member. The handle further has a cable guidance member for engaging a cable comprising the plurality of wires.

    • An electrical insulation displacement connector includes a body having at least one channel with an open top side configured for receipt of an insulated conductive core wire therein. A contact element is fixed in the body with a first insulation displacement end defined by opposed blades oriented across the channel, and a second end extending from a bottom surface of the body and configured for electrical contact with a PCB. The body includes retaining structure extending into the channel at a location relative to a depth of the blades within the channel such that the insulation portion of a wire inserted into the channel and pressed down into the first end of the contact element is pushed below the retaining structure, thereby preventing the wire from being inadvertently pulled out from the first end of the contact.
