摘要： Devices having one primary transistor, or a plurality of primary transistors in parallel, protect electrical circuits from overcurrent conditions. Optionally, the devices have only two terminals and require no auxiliary power to operate. In those devices, the voltage drop across the device provides the electrical energy to power the device. A third or fourth terminal can appear in further devices, allowing additional overcurrent and overvoltage monitoring opportunities. Autocatalytic voltage conversion allows certain devices to rapidly limit or block nascent overcurrents.

摘要： A circuit breaker includes an electromechanical switch, a current sensor, a voltage sensor, and a processor. The electromechanical switch is serially connected between a line input terminal and a load output terminal of the circuit breaker, and configured to be placed in a switched-closed state or a switched-open state. The current sensor is configured to sense a magnitude of current flowing in a path between the line input and load output terminals and generate a current sense signal. The voltage sensor is configured to sense a magnitude of voltage at a point on the path between the line input and load output terminals and generate a voltage sense signal. The processor is configured to receive and process the current sense signal and the voltage sense signal to determine operational status information of the circuit breaker and determine power usage information of a load connected to the load output terminal.

The first substrate comprises a first surface, and the second substrate comprises a second surface facing the first surface. The heating element is disposed on the first surface, and the fusible element is disposed above the heating element. The absorbent element is disposed on the second surface and above the fusible element. When over-current or over-temperature occurs, the heating element heats up to melt and blow the fusible element and the absorbent element absorbs melted metal of the fusible element.

摘要： A relay circuit includes a power supply to apply an AC input line voltage to the relay circuit, a relay coil and at least one pair of contacts actuated by the relay coil. A zero cross detection circuit and a control logic circuit for the relay circuit are also disclosed. The control logic circuit determines a zero crossover point in response to an output signal from the zero crossover detection circuit, and controls a relay coil to actuate the relay contacts to switch a load at the zero crossover point of a load current when the load is connected to the at least one pair of relay contacts, such that the voltage and current across the relay contacts is zero.

摘要： A circuit protection device includes a metal oxide varistor (MOV), a spring terminal and a thermal disconnect coupling the spring terminal to the MOV. A gas discharge tube (GDT) is coupled to the MOV. The spring terminal is biased such that upon occurrence of an overvoltage condition, heat generated by the MOV melts the thermal disconnect and allows the spring terminal to be displaced away from the MOV, thereby creating an opening circuit.

摘要： In a fault detection protecting circuit, an overheat detection unit is provided for each of communication channels on an IC chip, and detects the temperature in each communication channel as the detected temperature. A chip temperature detection unit detects the temperature at an arbitrary position on the IC chip as a reference temperature. A detection unit sets a predetermined ratio value regarding the difference between an overheat protective temperature and a reference temperature based on the detected temperature in each communication channel and the reference temperature, and identifies that the communication channel is in a state before overheat detection when the detected temperature exceeds a threshold value. A stop-control unit stops the output from one of the communication channels when the detection unit identifies that the communication channel is in a state before overheat detection and when it is identified that the communication channel is in an overcurrent state.

Control part turns off current with heat generation part temperature raised to or above prescribed threshold.

The evaluating unit is configured to detect an imminent overload at the user on the basis of temperatures detected by the first temperature sensor.
