摘要： Various embodiments of methods and systems for pausing and shaping data flow while supporting both parameterized and prioritized Quality of Service are disclosed. In some embodiments, a system for pausing and shaping data flow comprises an input buffer, a first pause controller coupled to the input buffer and an output buffer for flow control messages. Various embodiments also include a hop-1 buffer coupled to the input buffer and a hop-2 buffer comprising a plurality of queues coupled to the hop-1 buffer. Additionally, in some embodiments, a second pause controller is coupled to the queues. The second pause controller selects a queue or queues that will cause a pause to be generated based on a predetermined condition. A two-hop process controller controls the data packet flow from the input buffer to the hop-1 buffer and from the hop-1 buffer to the hop-2 queues based on packet classification.

摘要： The present disclosure is directed at systems, methods and media for providing bearer call-back services for bearers that have been rejected or pre-empted by a network apparatus in a core network. In some embodiments, if a network apparatus enters a state in which it becomes necessary to reject or pre-empt a bearer associated with a user equipment (UE) (e.g., due to load conditions in a radio access network, the core network, or an application server), the network apparatus can send to the UE a call-back message when the network apparatus exits the state that precipitated the bearer rejection or pre-emption. By sending a call-back message, the network apparatus can save the UE from multiple unsuccessful attempts to establish a bearer, or from waiting an unnecessarily long time before establishing a bearer.

摘要： A plurality of cache servers, connected to a packet forwarding apparatus, forwarding a packet transmitted and received between a storage apparatus that holds a content under management in store and a user terminal, temporarily holds at least part of the content under management in store. A controller decides an on-screen resolution at the terminal, based on information contained in a content request message from the terminal, and selects a cache server that holds a content of the on-screen resolution in store. The controller instructs the selected cache server to deliver the content. The cache server instructed calculates a bit rate based on a signal received from the terminal. The cache server reads content from the terminal, which is to have the on-screen resolution and a bit rate not higher than the calculated bit rate. The content is stored in a packet and transmitted, then delivered without reducing the user's QoE.

摘要： In a communication system having a plurality of user equipment (UE) devices that are operating in a contention based mode for device-to-device (D2D) communication, each UE device transmits a preferred transmission indicator when a condition for preferred transmission is met at the UE device. If a UE device receives a preferred transmission indicator, the UE device delays transmission of a D2D scheduling assignment (SA) to contend for communication resources for D2D communication. The length of the delay can be based on a number of preferred transmission indicators that are received. The preferred transmission indicator is based on a buffer size in one example.

摘要： A method and system are provided for reducing bandwidth usage in TDM CES systems conveying analog data, such as voice data. A transmitting router receiving TDM frames for packetization monitors the digitized analog data in the TDM frames. If the analog data has not changed beyond a configured threshold for a configured length of time, the transmitting router signals the receiving router at the far end of a TDM Pseudowire that no packets for the TDM Pseudowire will be sent. The transmitting router does not send any packets over the TDM Pseudowire, not even packets with empty payloads. The receiving router a receiving such a signal starts to generate its own packets for placing in its jitter buffer. Valid data already within the jitter buffer is played out to the access port, but once this runs out dummy packets placed in the jitter buffer by the receiving router are played out. In this way the jitter buffer maintains its fill level even when no packets are being sent across the TDM Pseudowire. The transmitting router continues to monitor the received digitized analog data, and only when it determines that the analog data has changed beyond the threshold does the transmitting router signal the receiving router, and begins sending packets once again. The method and system thereby reduce the bandwidth usage in TDM CES systems conveying analog data by refraining from needlessly sending packets over the TDM-Pseudowire when the analog data is not changing.

The receiver can select a playback rate and make requests at that playback rate, monitor a presentation buffer that stores media data to be consumed by a presentation element, store an indication of a buffer level corresponding to how much of the presentation buffer is occupied by the media data that is received and not yet consumed by the presentation element, maintain a state of an issued request for downloading a selected first chunk of media data, and when an issued request is outstanding, determine, based on network conditions and the state of the issued request, whether to continue the request or cancel the request.

Data packets are transferred over the multiple request channels (14) through a network (16) to a destination (18). The destination (18) re-orders the data packets received over the multiple request channels (14) into a proper sequence in response to the sequence numbers to facilitate data processing. 摘要： A client device presents streaming media and includes a stream manager, a request accelerator, and a source component coupled to the stream manager and the request accelerator for determining which requests to make. A rate selection process can make rate decisions so that the buffer is filled when it is low, avoiding erratically changing rates and can choose the correct steady rate quickly. Multimedia download strategies can be used for HTTP that allow for accurate rate estimations, achieving link capacity even if network delays and packet loss rates are high, achieving timely delivery of the stream, and achieving relatively steady download rates with little short term variability. A receiver might use multiple HTTP connections, decompose media requests into smaller chunk requests, synchronize the connections using TCP flow control mechanisms, and request data in bursts. In addition, the receiver might use an HTTP pipelining process to keep the connections busy.
