摘要： An image forming apparatus includes a print engine, a first CPU that controls operation of the image forming apparatus except for the print engine, a second CPU that controls operation of the print engine, and a shared memory. On executing processing of a print job, the first CPU performs a job management including managing job management information and storing the job management information in a data area of the shared memory, and the first CPU outputs image data to be printed, stored in the data area, to the print engine. The second CPU monitors an operation state of the first CPU and, on determining that the abnormality is occurring in the first CPU, maintains the processing of the print job by outputting the image data to be printed to the print engine as proxy for the first CPU and performing the job management as proxy for the first CPU.

摘要： The present disclosure is directed to systems, methods, and devices that enable monitoring of threshold values related to parameters within a printing device through the communication of one or more terminal devices and the printing device with a threshold subscription unit. The terminal devices transmit threshold values to be monitored to the threshold subscription unit. The threshold subscription unit then orders those threshold values into a queue and assigns one to the printing device. Upon receiving an alert from the printing device that a parameter value related to the assigned threshold value has been reached, the threshold subscription unit notifies the terminal devices of this and assigns the next threshold value in the queue to the printing device. This continues until all threshold values in the queue have been reached.

The casing has a symbol inscribed on a predetermined portion therein. The symbol corresponds to the status information item. When the acquiring section acquires the status information item, the operation control section controls the drive section to move the reading unit to a position corresponding to the portion on which the symbol corresponding to the status information item is inscribed and controls the light emitting section to emit light while the reading unit is located at the position.

The apparatus detects an error, reproduces moving images corresponding to operations of an operation procedure for cancelling the error, and detects user operations. When the apparatus detects an operation during reproduction of a corresponding moving image, and the operation is not a last operation, the apparatus reproduces a next operation moving image. When the operation is not detected during reproduction of the corresponding moving image, the apparatus ends reproduction of the moving image. In a case that the operation is detected during reproduction of the corresponding moving image, and the operation is the last operation, the apparatus executes error recovery processing.
