摘要： There are provided an acoustic generator capable of generating a high-quality sound having little distortion, and an acoustic generation device and an electronic apparatus using the same. An acoustic generator has a vibration body, a first exciter, a second exciter, a first damping material and a second damping material. The vibration body has two surfaces which are positioned with a gap therebetween in a first direction. The first exciter and the second exciter are disposed on the vibration body. The first damping material is disposed on the vibration body and has a first portion which overlaps the first exciter when viewed in the first direction. The second damping material is disposed on the vibration body and has a second portion which overlaps the second exciter when viewed in the first direction.

摘要： An acoustically reactive composite can include an expanded polytetrafluoroethylene (ePTFE) membrane formed of a highly fibrillated ePTFE microstructure with an elastomer fully impregnated within the ePTFE membrane. The composite can have an acoustic loss of less than 7 dB at 1 kHz and a water entry pressure (WEP) of at least 20 PSI. A layered assembly for protecting an acoustic device can include an acoustically reactive composite as described above and an adhesive layer arranged to define an acoustic cavity. An acoustic device can incorporate an acoustically reactive composite or layered assembly as described above, with the acoustically reactive composite or layered assembly arranged to span an acoustic cavity proximate to a transducer of the acoustic device.

Multiple acoustic pathways in the substrate have predetermined lengths, wherein a proximal end of each pathway forms an opening in a front surface of the substrate, and a distal end terminates at the acoustic transducer. The predetermined lengths of the acoustic pathways are designed to form an acoustic spatial filter that selectively passes acoustic signals from or to different locations. The transducer can convert electric energy to acoustic energy when the apparatus operates as a speaker, or the the transducer can convert acoustic energy to electric energy and operate as a microphone.

An acoustic port may have an opening between an interior and exterior of the portable electronic device. The opening may be covered by a metal mesh. An acoustic fabric may be interposed between the metal mesh and the opening. The opening may be formed from a hole in a glass member having outer and inner chamfers. A microphone boot may be provided that forms front and rear radial seals with a housing of the device and a microphone unit respectively. The microphone boot may also form multiple face seals with the microphone unit. A speaker for the speaker port may be enclosed in a sealed speaker enclosure. The speaker enclosure may have a pressure-equalizing vent slit covered with an acoustic mesh.

In one embodiment of the technology disclosed herein, a venting media composite has a microporous membrane layer and a coating on the microporous membrane layer to form a composite. The basis weight of the composite is at least about 0.5% higher than a basis weight of the microporous membrane layer without the coating. In some embodiments the composite has a decreased insertion loss than its membrane-only counterpart.
