    • A magnetic coil is described. In an example, an apparatus comprises a layer of porous material and a magnetic coil. The layer of porous material comprises openings configured to pass sound waves through the layer and capture particles having a larger dimension than a width of any of the openings. The magnetic coil is configured on the layer, wherein a signal line of the coil is configured to conform to a shape of the layer so that the signal line is configured on the layer. The coil is configured to change a magnetic field of a transducer and change an orientation of the particles so as to capture the particles on the layer. In other examples, a method and a loudspeaker are described.

    • A low profile loudspeaker transducer is presented with an arrangement of placing the motor up near or into the inside concave portion of a convex dome or inverted convex cone diaphragm. In some preferred embodiments the low profile structure is facilitated by an inverted placement of the spider suspension above the plane of the surround suspension to stabilize the voice coil during excursion while supporting a low profile structure. Additionally, in numerous embodiments a coupling structure is utilized between the voice coil former and the diaphragm to create a broad surface area connection to the diaphragm to create a stiffer structure and minimizing breakup modes and creating a more robust mechanical structure to withstand greater output capability.

    • The invention relates to an electromagnetic signal converter for an osteophone, comprising a soft magnetic yoke (1), an electrical coil (2) arranged concentrically to the longitudinal axis of the yoke (1), an elastically suspended, soft-magnetic armature (4) which, viewed in the direction of the longitudinal axis (5) of the yoke (1), is separated from the yoke (1) by a working air gap (8) and can move along the longitudinal axis (5) of the yoke (1), and a permanent magnet (9) which is magnetized in the direction of the longitudinal axis (5) of the yoke (1) in order to generate a magnetic biasing voltage of the yoke (1) and of the armature (4). In order to reduce the exciter output for the coil, it is provided that the permanent magnet (9) and the coil (2) do not overlap one another in the direction of the longitudinal axis of the yoke (1) and that means is provided for dividing the magnetic flux that can be produced by the coil (2) onto at least two flux paths, wherein one flux path runs outside of the permanent magnet (9), as a result of which the total magnetic resistance of the magnetic circuit is minimized, viewed from the coil (2).
