摘要： Disclosed herein are techniques to enable remote discovery of connectivity capabilities and remote connection of devices in a power efficient manner. In particular, discovery and connection requests for connectivity capabilities utilizing a first radio may be communicated using a second radio, the second radio utilizing a lower amount of power relative to the first radio. For example, connectivity capabilities such as Wi-Fi, Wi-Fi Direct, WiGig, Zigbee can be discovered and connection request communicated using a Bluetooth radio.

摘要： A method and an apparatus for controlling a sleep mode in a portable terminal having a main controller and a sub-controller operating at low power are provided. The method includes detecting, by the sub-controller, a motion signal generated by a camera when the main controller enters the sleep mode, extracting a motion pattern from the detected motion signal, determining whether the extracted motion pattern is substantially identical with a preset motion wake-up pattern, and cancelling the sleep mode by waking-up the main controller when the extracted motion pattern is substantially identical with the motion wake-up pattern.

摘要： A method and a terminal for reporting sensor data are provided. The method for reporting sensor data includes: when a processor needs to process only sensor data collected by a sensor, sending, by the processor, an indication that the processor is to enter a sleep state, and entering the sleep state; after the processor enters the sleep state, receiving and temporarily storing, by a sensor hub, the sensor data collected and reported by the sensor into an event information table, recording, by the sensor hub, corresponding time at which the sensor collects the sensor data, and further temporarily storing the time into the event information table; and when the processor is restored to a working state, reporting, by the sensor hub, the event information table to the processor, so that the processor parses the event information table to complete corresponding processing.

A hardware portion of an apparatus performs packet processing on received data, where the hardware portion selectively decodes the received data. 摘要： The present invention relates to a terminal and a base station, and to a receiving and transmitting method to be performed at the terminal and the base station, respectively. In particular, the present invention relates to power consumption reduction by providing two operation bandwidths for a terminal, one being a cell-bandwidth, a bandwidth in which the cell may operate and the other one is a bandwidth, lower than the cell-bandwidth and called power-saving bandwidth. The terminal may perform the initial cell search including reception of the system information in the cell bandwidth and perform other reception/transmission/monitoring operation(s) in the power-saving bandwidth. Accordingly, a low-cost terminal implementation is enabled, which is particularly advantageous for the machine communication terminals.

In some implementations, such systems and methods can generate and/or receive interrupts to ascertain external power unavailability, operate on battery power, instruct functional modules to enter power saving mode, await restoration of external power, and instruct modules to resume normal operations. In other implementations, such systems and methods can detect external power unavailability via polling, operate on battery power, instruct any or all of primary and auxiliary processor(s) to enter power saving mode, monitor when external power has been restored, and instruct functional modules to resume normal operation. Power saving mode can reduce the rate of modem battery drain and thus reduce the likelihood of a service outage and extend service duration.
