    • The present disclosure relates to a method for synchronizing a radio device with a network node of a Global System for Mobile Communications, GSM, radio communication system. The method comprises obtaining a reference array based on a known training sequence, TSC, of a synchronization burst, SB, of a synchronization channel, SCH, of the network node. The method also comprises receiving an SB including the TSC from the network node and forming a received array. The method also comprises comparing the reference array to the received array for finding a sequence of the received array which has identity with the reference array, and thereby finding the position of the TSC in the received SB. The method also comprises determining whether the identity of the found sequence with the reference array is above a predefined threshold, in which case the radio device can be time synchronized based on the found TSC.

    • A frame is effectively transmitted and received by setting an optimal preamble length according to transmission environments between communication apparatuses. A data communication system includes a synchronization detection part to detect bit synchronization based on the preamble of the frame received to the second communication apparatus from the first communication apparatus, a synchronization position information generating part to generate synchronization position information of a position of the bit synchronization, which is in the frame received in the second communication apparatus, detected by the synchronization detection part, a preamble length calculating part to calculate an optimal value of a length of the preamble based on the synchronization position information, and a transmit command issuing part to issue a transmit command of transmission of the frame including the preamble having the length based on the optimal value from the first communication apparatus to the second communication apparatus.

    • Systems and methods are provided for detecting a received synchronization signal. The method includes receiving, at a receiver, a signal from a transmitter, where one or more portions of the received signal include the received synchronization signal. The method includes processing the one or more portions of the received signal to obtain a differential signal, and processing the differential signal and a plurality of candidate differential synchronization signals to obtain a plurality of cross-correlation signals. Each candidate differential synchronization signal is associated with one cross-correlation signal. The method includes selecting, based at least in part on the plurality of cross-correlation signals, one of the candidate differential synchronization signals, and detecting the received synchronization signal based at least in part on (i) the one or more portions of the received signal, and (ii) a frequency offset value obtained from the cross-correlation signal associated with the selected candidate differential synchronization signal.
