摘要： An optical fiber including a light guiding inner core. The light guiding inner core includes a first light guiding segment and a second light guiding segment connected to the first light guiding segment. The first light guiding segment includes, from the inside out, a light absorbing layer, an inner electrode layer, an insulating layer, a void layer, a proton exchange membrane, and an outer electrode layer. The void layer is formed between the insulating layer and the proton exchange membrane. The light absorbing layer is a photovoltaic material layer. The inner electrode layer communicates with the proton exchange membrane via a plurality of microelectrodes across the insulating layer and the void layer. The plurality of microelectrodes is evenly disposed around the inner electrode layer. The outer electrode layer is a porous conductive structure. The second light guiding segment of the light guiding inner core includes a conductive layer.

摘要： A microfluidic electrolyzer includes a housing having a power source, a sea water reservoir, a downstream microfluidic reactor connected to the reservoir and a collector for storing the separated gases emanating from the microfluidic reactor. The downstream microfluidic reactor includes a substrate, a microchannel embedded with respect to the substrate and providing a water inlet end at one end and a product outlet at the other, and a pair of electrodes. The electrodes are electrically connected with the power source and each electrode has an operative end inserted within the microchannel constituting an anode and a cathode. The cathode and the anode are positioned one ahead of the other, from the water inlet end and maintained in direct contact with the water to generate the oxygen and hydrogen involving electrolysis of the water and in-situ separate pathways of the hydrogen and oxygen free of any mixing with each other.

摘要： A system and process for producing carbon nano-materials is disclosed. A carbonate material such as Li2CO3 is heated via a furnace to transform into molten carbonate. CO2 is bubbled into the molten carbonate. The molten carbonate is subjected to electrolysis by passing current from an anode to a cathode. A transition metal nucleation agent is added to result in nucleation sites that grow carbon nano-materials at the cathode. This process separates oxygen at the anode and carbon nano-materials at the cathode. The characteristics of the carbon nano-material may be controlled by varying current density, feed gas, transition metal composition, temperature, viscosity and electrolyte composition.

摘要： The present invention generally relates to storing energy in a form that is carbon neutral, storable and transportable, so that it can be used on demand. The present invention provides a process and system for using energy as available to produce carbon from carbon oxide, and then oxidizing the carbon to generate useful energy on demand, while effectively recycling the carbon, oxidant, and carbon oxide used in the process or system. In one embodiment, the present invention effectively stores renewable energy as carbon, transports the carbon, oxidizes the carbon to generate useful energy on demand and recycles the carbon as carbon dioxide. This invention may increase the utilization of renewable energy, especially for electrical power generation, while producing no net carbon dioxide or other air pollutants.

摘要： The present disclosure is directed to steam reformers for the production of a hydrogen rich reformate, comprising a shell having a first end, a second end, and a passage extending generally between the first end and the second end of the shell, and at least one heat source disposed about the second end of the shell. 摘要： The “Solar powered chlorine producing module”, “SCPM”, is a multi-purpose invention. It is designed to provide daily use of chlorine and caustic soda for water and sewer treatment plants in municipalities throughout the world. This design reduces the operating cost of water and sewer plants in such a way that the initial capital cost will be captured within a few years.This invention is designed to replace the chlorine producing plants which are expensive to build and costly to operate. They use enormous electric energy taken from already overloaded power grid.This invention eliminates transporting chlorine, which is considered hazardous material from producing plant to end users' sites. In addition to safety, it also eliminates the liquefaction and transportation cost. Currently, the chlorine end users need storage facilities for hazardous chemicals, which will be eliminated by use of the “SCPM” system.Numerous industries use chlorine in daily processing and productions. They could use this system at their own site. Unlike conventional chlorine productions that are built with constant capacity production for their entire life with high initial capital cost, this design is flexible to the chlorine needs of user facilities. A chlorine production plant with “solar powered chlorine producing modules” is flexible, expandable with minimum initial capital investment that is suitable for any chlorine consumer facility.

摘要： A zero-emission, closed-loop and hybrid solar-produced syngas power cycle is introduced utilizing an oxygen transport reactor (OTR). The fuel is syngas produced within the cycle. The separated oxygen inside the OTR through the ion transport membrane (ITM) is used in the syngas-oxygen combustion process in the permeate side of the OTR. The combustion products in the permeate side of the OTR are CO2 and H2O. The combustion gases are used in a turbine for power production and energy utilization then a condenser is used to separate H2O from CO2. CO2 is compressed to the feed side of the OTR. H2O is evaporated after separation from CO2 and fed to the feed side of the OTR.
