摘要： A wetland roof system and method for treating domestic waste water is disclosed which comprises a container having three sections and a L/W ratio greater than 10, a gravel layer deposited at the bottom of the container at a first thickness, a crushed stone layer deposited directly on top of the gravel layer having a second thickness, a sand layer deposited directly on top of the crushed stone layer having a third thickness, a soil layer deposited directly on top of the sand layer having a fourth thickness, and a plant layer growing from said soil layer at a predetermined density.

摘要： A system for treating and recycling rainwater, including at least three stages constructed wetlands disposed along a sloped surface. Each stage constructed wetland includes a coarse gravel layer, a fine gravel layer, an improved soil layer, and wetland plants from bottom to top. Slopes are disposed at two sides of the upper part of each constructed wetland and are different in heights. An intermediate overflow pipe is disposed at the top of the slope between every two adjacent constructed wetlands. A last overflow pipe communicates with a municipal rainwater pipe. The coarse gravel layers of every two adjacent constructed wetlands are connected by connecting pipes. A perforated water collecting pipe is disposed at front ends of the connecting pipes. A water outlet pipe is disposed in the bottom of the coarse gravel layer of a last stage constructed wetland and is connected to a clean water reservoir.

摘要： An apparatus and method for phytoremediation (phyto-utilization) in a contained cell or fully contained cell to reduce the volume of wastewater and/or to remediate contaminated soil and/or wastewater from various sources, while protecting surrounding soil and groundwater resources is disclosed. This invention provides a means and apparatus to use phytoremediation at any location by containing the phytoremediation process at its base with an impermeable barrier, and if desired, fully enclosing the process aboveground within a structure. A fully enclosed process allows for year round plant growth, increased transpiration during colder seasons, and exclusion of precipitation from the system which in turn increases the net evapotranspiration of wastewater by the plant-based system.
