    • An axial flux motor assembly (10) comprises a stack of first and second discs (20a, 20b) arranged alternately such that there is a gap allowing rotation between each disc (20a, 20b). The first disc (20a) is mounted on a rotatable shaft (40), whilst the second disc (20b) is fixed in position. The first and second discs (20a, 20b) each comprise sectors (200) of magnetic material arranged on a face of the disc (20a, 20b), between each of which sectors (200) is a radially-extending conductor (202) of a conductive path (201) for conducting electric current. The sectors (200) of magnetic material on the first and second discs (20a, 20b) are arranged at a constant angular pitch, but the pitch of the sectors of magnetic material on the first disc may or may not be the same as those on the second disc. When electric current flows in the conductors (202), magnetic flux runs perpendicular to the faces of the discs (20a, 20b) in axially-extending flux paths (220), such that, considering the first disc(s) independently of the second disc(s), the magnetic flux in one axially-extending flux path (220) runs in an opposite direction to that in the immediately-adjacent flux paths (220) on each side of it, and is returned by flux return portions (30) of magnetic material provided at each end of the assembly (10). The total flux is the super-position of the flux of the first disc(s) and the second disc(s). The assembly (10) further comprises switching circuitry (50) for reversing the direction of current flowing in the conductive path (201) in one of the first disc (20a) or the second disc (20b) in correspondence to rotation thereof relative to the other of the first disc or the second disc in such a way as to effect continuous rotation of the first disc.

    • An electromagnetic moving system comprises a stator, a moving body and a controller. The stator comprises a circuit board with two layers of electrically connected coil windings spaced apart in a series way and made as spirals with center and peripheral points. The spirals of one layer are shifted in respect to the spirals of the adjacent layer along the line connecting the center points thus the center points of the spirals of one layer in transparent view are located between two nearest spirals of the adjacent layer. Each of the spirals of one layer in transparent view at least partially overlaps two nearest spirals of the adjacent layer. The moving body is comprised of one permanent magnet such as to cause interaction with the stator when it is powered, thus creating a force tending to propel the moving body along the line connecting said center points.
