    • A label applying apparatus and a related method are provided. The label applying apparatus may include a label applicator and a receptacle. The label applicator may include a displaceable piston with an applicator surface configured to receive a label. The receptacle may include walls that define an interior compartment. Further the receptacle may include a pivotable cover member that pivots about a hinge between a closed position that covers an upper opening of the receptacle and an open position in which articles of material may be inserted into the interior compartment. The distal end of an upper portion of the pivotable cover member may engage the articles such that the articles are retained in a position whereby the displaceable piston extends into the interior compartment and applies a label to a label application surface of the most proximate one of the articles to the applicator surface of the displaceable piston.

    • A film supplying apparatus includes: an upstream belt conveying unit and a downstream belt conveying unit that sequentially convey a label formed by cutting a label-forming base material, to a label delivery position; a label detection sensor that detects the label at an upper position of the downstream belt conveying unit; an encoder attached to a take-up spindle of a label delivery apparatus; and a control unit that calculates the amount of shift in the label on the basis of a label detection signal from the label detection sensor and a pulse signal from the encoder, and controls the operation of the downstream belt conveying unit conveying the label, so as to convey the label and stop the label at the label delivery position, while modifying the amount of shift.

    • Presented herein is a unique portable electronic hand-held label dispenser that is adjustable to accommodate labels of various widths by lengthening the pins and replacing a lower guide plate, and which additionally incorporates a sensor mechanism that precisely determines the length of each label, in order to accurately advance the roll of labels according to the captured data and dispense a single label at a time, and which includes the added advantage of a unique slotted uptake wheel that efficiently collects the paper backing for easy disposal. Depressing an electronic switch causes a label to be dispensed and also activates the sensor mechanism, which allows a roll of labels to advance until the end of the next label is identified, indicating that the roll has been advanced the full length of a single label, and additionally the uptake wheel rotates to capture the discarded paper backing.
