    • A method for manufacturing a gas sensor includes: disposing a tubular holder and a tubular compact in a tubular metallic shell defining a through hole, the tubular holder defining a first insertion hole, and the tubular compact defining a second insertion hole; preparing a preliminary assembly in which a pin is inserted into the first insertion hole and the second insertion hole; pulling out the pin from the first insertion hole and the second insertion hole and inserting a sensor element into the first insertion hole and the second insertion hole such that a forward end of the pin will come into contact with an end of the sensor element; compressing the compact to thereby fix the sensor element inside of the metallic shell; welding a protection sleeve to the metallic shell to thereby form a semi-assembly; and combining the semi-assembly with another semi-assembly to thereby form the gas sensor.

    • The present disclosure provides an assembled stack of fluidic modules comprising at least first and second fluidic modules assembled in a stacked configuration. The first fluidic module has first and second major planar surfaces and encloses a first fluidic passage extending therethrough from a first passage entrance to a first passage exit with the first passage exit located on the second major planar surface of the first fluidic module. The second fluidic module also has first and second major planar surfaces and encloses a second fluidic passage extending therethrough from a second passage entrance to a second passage exit, with the second passage entrance located on the first major planar surface of the second fluidic module. The second major planar surface of the first fluidic module and the first major planar surface of the second fluidic module are spaced apart and physically joined together by at least three separate glass or glass-ceramic pads fused therebetween, and the at least three pads include at least one pad having no through-hole and at least one pad having a through-hole, with the through-hole forming a sealed fluidic interconnection between the first fluidic passage and the second fluidic passage. A method of forming the assembled stack is also disclosed.

    • Methods for manufacturing modular leashes are disclosed. The modular leashes may comprise a flexible portion including a lead end and a handle portion. Manufacturing the flexible portion may comprise heating a pin and securing the pin to a lead end, so as to melt the lead to the pin using ambient heat from the pin. In some embodiments, heating the pin uses induction heating. Manufacturing the flexible portion may further comprise inserting the lead end into a sleeve, and securing the lead to the sleeve by crimping the sleeve onto the lead. Manufacturing the handle portion may comprise inserting handle ends into a first end of a sleeve and inserting a fastener into the handle ends. Manufacturing the handle portion may further comprise inserting a fitting into a second end of the sleeve so that a space between the sleeve and the fitting may receive the handle ends.
