    • A relay driving device includes first and second power supply modules, a switching circuit, and a control module. The first power supply module outputs a first voltage that has a magnitude sufficient to activate the relay. The second power supply module outputs a second voltage that has a magnitude sufficient to maintain an activated state of the relay. The control module is configured to control the switching circuit to connect the relay to the first power supply module so as to provide the first voltage to the relay for activating the relay, and to subsequently connect the relay to the second power supply module so as to provide the second voltage to the relay for maintaining the activated state of the relay.

    • A method for improving phase balance in a three-phase power system, such as a three-phase system feeding Single Wire Earth Return distribution networks. The inventive system can take power from a suitable source—including the three-phase distribution itself—and feed it to a “weaker” phase to improve balance. In addition, the system can store energy taken from the three-phase power system during off-peak periods and use this to boost a weaker phase during periods of phase imbalance. The inventive system preferably uses an organic Rankine cycle heat engine to extract stored thermal energy and use it to boost a weak phase or phases. The organic Rankine cycle heat engine may also take power from renewable sources such as solar collectors.

    • A wireless power transmission system includes a charging and path controller configured to supply, to a battery module, power generated by a solar cell module, or power generated by an alternating current-to-direct current (AC/DC) converter, based on a control signal; a power converter configured to receive power from the battery module and generate a supply power to be supplied to a target device from power received from the battery module using a resonant frequency; a source resonator configured to receive the supply power from the power converter and transmit the supply power received from the power converter to the target device; and a control/communication unit configured to generate the control signal of the charging and path controller based on an amount of the power generated by the solar cell module and an amount of power that can be output from the battery module.
