    • A method for approximating a stored pilot control map of a pressure control valve of a common-rail pump to the effective of pilot control map of the pressure control valve is presented. The stored pilot control map forms a desired pressure in the rail on a control current of the pressure control valve. The method includes the following method steps a) measurement of the pressure in the rail; b) determination of the control current of the pressure control valve; and c) adaptation of the stored pilot control map by a regression process that includes the pressure measured in step a) and control current measured in step b). In the course of a test run lasting 120 seconds (s) the control deviations (dp) of the desired pressure from the actual pressure in the pressure control valve could be substantially reduced.

    • An improved lock system structured to secure a structure closure in a closed position, the lock system including a main housing with a surrounding wall structure, an open interior and opposing outlet ends, and a pair of opposing track members disposed within the open interior of the main housing, and each having a first end and a plurality of teeth along an interior surface thereof. The track members are disposed in spaced, confronting relation from one another such that the teeth on the interior surfaces thereof confront one another. Additionally, disposed between the teeth of the track members is a drive member, including a drive segment having a plurality of drive teeth around a perimeter thereof to engage the teeth on the track members, and at least one actuator segment to facilitate exterior rotation of the drive segment resulting in corresponding lateral movement of the track members towards and away from the opposing outlet ends of the main housing. Extending from each of the track members towards the opposing outlet ends are lock members, each including at least one lock shaft structured to protrude from the main housing upon corresponding movement of the track members. Shaft retention housings are disposed adjacent each opposing outlet end of the main housing so as to receive engagement ends of the lock shafts therein and therethrough to prevent planar movement of the main housing relative to the shaft retention housing.

    • A maximum security lock assembly adapted for mounting on a door within a door frame, comprised of an armor plate of toolresistant alloy steel having an integral frusto-conical protrusion extending outwardly therefrom, on the interior of which is fixed a pin tumbler lock with a cylindrical plug or core which is released for rotary movement upon the insertion of the properly fitted key into its keyhole. An oscillating crank connected to the rotary plug actuates a bolt mechanism which is selectively engageable with apertured lugs on a strike on the door frame which extend into the field of movement of the locking bolts when the door is in closed position. An opening of restricted area in the outer wall of said protrusion permits the insertion of said key into the keyhole of the lock and the rotation thereof while leaving concealed the main outer face of the lock and especially the portions thereof most vulnerable to picking and drilling of the lock assembly. The screw and bolt fasteners for the complete lock assembly including the components thereof, are hidden, and a shield of tool-resistant alloy surrounds the connections from the lock to the bolt actuating mechanism to prevent the disabling of the locking assembly at this portion thereof. The armor plate and protrusion extending therefrom which is resistant to the operations of drills, wrenches and jimmys thereon may be duplicated on the inner side of the door to secure the lock assembly against operation without a proper key on the inner side of the door as well as on the exterior thereof.
