    • A dual brush assembly has a detail brush that is removably attached to a scrub brush. The scrub brush has a footing to which a bristle block is attached. The bristle block includes a plurality of brush bristles that form a substantially flat bristle surface and a curved bristle surface. The detail brush has a brush head with a plurality of bristles forming a smaller surface area than the curved bristle surface and forming a substantially smaller surface area than the flat bristle surface. The detail brush conformably fits into a recess in a grip of the scrub brush, and the recess has a sloped surface to receive the brush head. The detail brush also has a pressure pad that flares out to cover the brush head. In the attached position, the pressure pad substantially covers the recess and provides a ridge for detaching the detail brush from the scrub brush. In the detached position, the pressure pad provides a platform for a user's thumb or forefinger.

    • A cleaning tool (1) intended primarily for cleaning ends of ribbon fibers (17) is designed as a pair of tweezers. At the free ends of the tweezer legs (3) opposite plush pads (13) and opposite cotton or paper pads (15) are provided. The plush pads (13) can be dipped in alcohol before cleaning the ribbon fiber. Then the alcohol is sucked into and held by the plush cloth, whereas the part of the tool, which comprises the wiping/drying pads (15), remains dry. An end of the ribbon fiber (17) is then moved over the pads first contacting the liquid-containing plush pads (13) and thereafter contacting the adjacent dry pads (15). Using the tool the operations of washing and wiping fibers to make them dry can be executed in a single step and in a secure way, so that no particles and solvent residues remain on the end of the ribbon fiber.

    • A cleaning and polishing pad including densely packed fibrillated face yarns on one side and an opposite polishing side, which alternatively may be a resilient, textured surface, or an open-celled sponge. The pad is constructed of all synthetic materials using conventional carpet manufacturing techniques. Synthetic fibrillated face yarns are tufted into a primary back which may be a woven polypropylene product, scrim, sponge or other sheet material. The face yarns include yarns of at least two (2) deniers, tightly packed, to provide both a soft and hard bristle face with the yarns cooperating to produce a non-abrasive scrubbing pad. Optionally, a secondary synthetic substrate, such as, for example, a latex substrate, applied to the backside of the tufted product provides a secondary back and a means of locking the yarns into place in the primary backing. Either the secondary back or a separate polishing substrate adhered to the secondary back also forms a polishing or non-abrasive cleaning surface. In a second configuration, the non-abrasive surface is a solution-absorbent, sponge-like material adhesively attached to the backside of the primary back of the tufted product. The latex and/or secondary back or secondary latex back or the sponge-like material gives the pad dimensional stability and shape memory, while allowing it to be bent and crushed during cleaning.

    • The present invention is a personal hygiene device. Specifically, the invention is a back maintenance device comprised of a brush head attached to a variable length handle. The brush head is attached to at least one abrasive element. In an alternate embodiment, a second abrasive element is attached to the brush head. Abrasive elements include bristle and porous structures. The variable length handle is both extendible from and retractable into a storage cavity within the brush head. The variable length handle is telescoping. One embodiment consists of fixed length tubular members slidably disposed and extending to form a rigid handle structure. An alternate embodiment consists of a coiled member slidably disposed along its length and extending to form a rigid handle structure.

    • A hand held cleaning device that has a self wringing mechanism for extracting liquids from a flexible cleaning element. A wringer mechanism is mounted at the end of an elongated handle. A slidable mop head base is mounted on the bottom of the handle and slides along the elongated handle. When the mop head is moved from its first cleaning position, the flexible cleaning element is drawn through the wringing assembly to remove absorbed liquids from the cleaning element. A pivotal gate opens, allowing the mop head and cleaning element to pass back through the wringing mechanism to assume its original cleaning position. In an alternate embodiment the mop head is attached to the elongated handle and the wringer mechanism is mounted for slidable movement with respect to the elongated handle.
