摘要： A controller (250) for differentiating passive ultrasound sensors for interventional medical procedures includes a memory (291) and a processor (292). When executed by the processor (292), instructions from the memory (291) cause a system (200) that includes the controller (250) to implement a process that includes receiving first signals from a first passive ultrasound sensor (S1) and receiving second signals from a second passive ultrasound sensor (S2). The first signals and second signals are generated by the passive ultrasound sensors responsive to beams emitted from an ultrasound imaging probe (210). The process also includes identifying a characteristic of the first signals and the second signals. The characteristic includes shapes of the first signals and the second signals and/or times at which the first signals and the second signals are generated as the beams from the ultrasound imaging probe are received. The first passive ultrasound sensor (S1) and the second passive ultrasound sensor (S2) are differentiated based on the characteristic.

Frequency spectrums of the first drive signal and the second drive signal have a first intensity peak on a low frequency side of a center frequency of the transmission frequency, a second intensity peak on a high frequency side of the center frequency and a third intensity peak at a frequency between a frequency corresponding to the first intensity peak and a frequency corresponding to the second intensity peak, in a frequency band included in a transmission frequency band at −20 dB of the ultrasound probe.

A low pressure source applies a partial low pressure to the surface of the displaceable interface to secure the tissue volume to the surface, and the axially displaceable interface is biased to pull and contour the tissue volume when the tissue volume is secured to the surface. The axially displaceable interface is typically mounted on a telescoping support and the biasing is provided by the same low pressure used to secure the tissue volume.

摘要： This application presents a system and related methods that analyze a volume of tissue using ultrasound waveform tomography imaging. By using frequency-domain waveform tomography techniques and a gradient descent algorithm, the system can reconstruct the sound speed distributions of a volume of tissue, such as breast tissue, of varying densities with different types of lesions. By allowing sound speed to have an imaginary component that characterizes sound attenuation, the system can classify the different types of lesions with a fine granularity.

摘要： The speed of sound data corresponding to transmission of ultrasound through a cancerous lesion is different than the speed of sound data corresponding to transmission of ultrasound through a benign lesion. The system can assign a coloration to a speed of sound image according to the speed of sound through the tissue as obtained from quantitative transmission ultrasound. The shape indicative of a lesion can be identified through the reflection data with the type of lesion identifiable by the coloration from the speed of sound data.
