摘要： A method for making an absorbent structure for use in a disposable absorbent article is provided. The method involves the steps of providing a first moving surface having an absorbent layer-forming reservoir, providing a supply of absorbent material, and depositing a portion of the supply of absorbent material into the absorbent layer-forming reservoir. The method further involves associating the portion of the supply of absorbent material with a first substrate layer and/or a second substrate layer to define an absorbent structure having a channel therein corresponding to the one or more raised strips, and bonding the first substrate layer to the second substrate layer through the channel. The channel is substantially free of the absorbent material.

When folded the feminine hygiene article has an absorbent core 18 which does not substantially overlap at the forewardmost extent of the absorbent core, which includes the projection, and rearwardmost extent of the absorbent core, which includes the recess, such that the overall folded thickness of the feminine hygiene article is minimized.

The high compression parts 14 formed along the inside curve 12 are arranged over an entire length of the inside curve 12, and the high compression parts 15 formed along the outside curve 13 are arranged on a center part of the outside curve 13, and the high compression parts are not arranged at both end parts of the outside curve 13. Sanitary napkin 1 makes it easy to deform along a shape of a body and make it difficult to generate twists or leakage.

The absorbent core has a high-density region and a low density region. The low density region has an average density which is at least 20%, preferably at least 30% and most preferably at least 50% lower than the average density of the high density region. Also disclosed is a method of making the article.
