摘要： Embodiments of the invention relate to systems and methods for multi-player gaming. Some embodiments relate to systems having an improved communications infrastructure and improved handheld game controllers, while other embodiments relate to improvements in handling large numbers of players in the multi-player game when played in a game arena with a single large display screen showing the multi-player game images. In one particular embodiment, a system is provided that has a game server controlling a display system to display the multi-player game on the large screen and a plurality of game controllers. Each game controller has a secondary display means for providing a secondary game display and input means for receiving player input. The system further comprises communication means for enabling communication between the game server and each of the plurality of game controllers. The plurality of game controllers are located in proximity to the large display screen such that it is visible to game players manipulating the game controllers while playing the multi-player game.

For puzzle pattern determination, the monitoring puzzle piece is equipped with sensors, a processor, a wireless transceiver, and optionally a gyroscope sensor. The monitored puzzle pieces are rotatably connected to each other and to the monitoring puzzle piece to form the puzzle. The sensors, together with the processor or alternatively with an external client, track the monitored puzzle piece rotating relative to the monitoring puzzle piece. The external client may provide feedback to a user of the puzzle. The system enables the competitions between the user and users of other puzzles without requiring the physical proximity of the competitors.

The method includes, receiving an indication at a first point in time that a user donning the wrist-wearable device is providing a digit-to-digit gesture in which one of the user's digits touches another of the user's digits without contacting the display of the wearable device. The method further includes, in accordance with a determination that the digit-to-digit gesture is provided while data indicates that the wrist-wearable device has a first roll value, causing a target device in communication with the wearable device to perform a first input command and receiving another indication at a second point in time that is after the first point in time that the user is providing the digit-to-digit gesture again, causing the target device to perform a second input command that is distinct from the first input command.

The controller comprising a player mounting means, a motion detector that provides a means for determining the motion of the controller and an audio code communication module. The gaming system may comprise an opponent based on an electronic game running on a computer device or a second controller worn by a second player. The application is configured to implement a first mode in which the interface device processes and displays outputs associated with substantially all messages transmitted by the game controller, and a second mode in which the interface device processes and displays a predefined subset of messages from the game controller and displays gaming media streams from the gaming server.
