    • A lighted drum or other article may have a LED strip light and a wireless receiver/decoder in communication with the LED strip light. The wireless receiver/decoder may be configured to receive wireless control signals from a remote computer and control operation of the LED strip light in response to the control signals. Some embodiments may include a trigger assembly engaged with a drum head; a wireless receiver/decoder in communication with the trigger assembly; and at least one LED strip light in communication with the wireless receiver/decoder. The trigger assembly may be configured to generate a trigger signal in response to movement of the drum head. The wireless receiver/decoder may be configured to receive the trigger signal and wireless control signals and control operation of the at least one LED strip light in response to the trigger signal and the control signals. Related systems and methods are also described.

    • The invention relates to the management of atmosphere programs including lighting scenes for lighting systems, audio, video, scent or any combination of the above, particularly to a user interface for comfortably selecting an atmosphere program to be created by an atmosphere creation system. A basic idea of the invention is to provide a central control of atmosphere programs together with the possibility of interactively selecting an atmosphere program to be activated locally with an atmosphere creation system. This is particularly useful for large retail chains, which for example require a uniform lighting atmosphere in all chain shops and want to provide their shop personal to comfortably select among a predefined set of lighting scenes in an comfortable way. An embodiment of the invention relates to an atmosphere program management system (10) comprising a server (12), which is remotely accessible via a data connection and stores atmosphere programs and a remote management client (14) for accessing the server and providing a user interface for managing the atmosphere programs stored by the server.

A teacher, for example, can play notes and/or chords on a first stringed instrument having a sensor. A processing having a decoder and a message generator can receive signals from the sensor and generate messages that are communicated to a light-system in the second instrument. The light-system displays the finger positions on the second instrument, each finger position corresponding to a finger position played on the first instrument. The processor can receive sensor information from the second information that can be used to determine whether a displayed finger position was correctly played on the second instrument.

    • A lighting system is described that is completely controlled and operated by the drummer of a musical band through cymbal crashes. An omni-directional, cat whisker style actuator electric limit switch is to be mounted to a standard cymbal stand just beneath the cymbal. A specifically modified actuator of the switch rests lightly on the underside of the cymbal. As the cymbal is struck, the downward motion of the cymbal and switch actuator closes the electrical contacts in the switch completing an electrical circuit. An associated outlet receptacle box wired schematically completes the lighting system and allows the user to plug in any standard light of choice.The novelty of this invention provides for an “on cue” and simultaneous flash of light as the cymbal is struck.
