摘要： A machine for quenching, crushing and feeding material that includes a continuous loop drag chain conveyor. A first portion of the conveyor travels through a quenching tank and a second portion travels beneath the tank's bottom wall. Large blocks of hot material are dropped onto the conveyor inside the tank. A rotary crusher is positioned to crush the cooled blocks into sized pieces as they exit the tank. The sized pieces drop through an opening in the conveyor's frame and onto the second portion of the conveyor. The pieces dewater on the second portion of the conveyor and drop through a discharge opening and into a removal device for transfer to a remote location for further processing.

The apparatus includes a circular disc for passing a series of blades through a chipping station and a chute and spout assembly for feeding logs from a conveyor into the chipping station. A lifting mechanism is mounted for rotation upon a shaft which is situated adjacent to but outside of the chute and spout assembly. A drive unit is arranged to turn the shaft so that the lifting mechanism is rotated between a retracted position outside of the flow described by the chute and spout assembly and an extended position inside the chute and spout assembly whereby the lifting mechanism can contact logs within the assembly and move the logs contra to the direction of flow.

摘要： A heavy duty roller mill for flaking feed grain and the like comprises a housing for enclosing a pair of heavy rollers and auxiliary equipment such as a steaming chamber. A flexible curved plate grain flow controlling gate is mounted in the housing above the rolls. The plate is adjusted by bending effected by cam pressure. The housing is provided with a pair of horizontal slots in its side walls and a structural frame for carrying the rollers mounted in their bearing assemblies. The slots open toward one end of the mill and a removable door is provided to afford movement of the rolls into and out of position in the housing. During operation of the mill the slots are closed by removable closure plates. Readily released pivotal arms are provided for retaining the bearing assemblies in operative positions. Upon release of the bearing assembly retainers and removal of the door and the slot closure plates the rolls may roll outside the cabinet without disturbing the flow control, the steaming chamber or other equipment. A track extension is provided to support the rolls in position outside the housing.

A vertically adjustable gate is included at the upper edge of the housing opening to control the height of the opening, the gate being raised for grinding bales and lowered for grinding grain. A shaft having a plurality of radially extending fingers thereon is mounted forwardly of the upper edge of the housing opening and is operative to engage and feed rearwardly through the opening the upper portion of a bale as the latter is conveyed rearwardly through the chamber.
