摘要： An adjustable-size socket formed as a pair of coaxial tubes in rotatable relationship to one another, the innermost tube having a limited directional distance and independently rotational relationship with the outer tube by rotating along a mated set of threaded structures on immediately adjacent sides of the coaxial pair of tubes. The inner tube is a deep well chamber having a tool receiving end and a fastener receiving end, with an annular array of independently pivotable fingers arranged about an internal perimeter of the inner tube at the fastener receiving end. Rotation of the inner tube pushes a lowermost portion of the inner tube against the fingers, pushing them into the deep well chamber and around an irregularly shaped bolt or nut style fastener, gripping the fastener and allowing a user to remove or reinstall the fastener. The fingers self-adjust around the fastener.

The forward sleeve may be configured to rotate radially relative to the socket body, and translate axially relative to the socket body. The socket may also include a biasing member configured to urge the forward sleeve to translate axially relative to the socket body in a direction towards the forward end of the socket body. Further, the socket body may include an internal cavity, and the socket may include a magnet disposed within the internal cavity. The magnet may be configured to translate axially within the internal cavity relative to the socket body and be configured to magnetically attract the fastener to the forward end of the socket body.

摘要： The invention provides a subsea torque tool (10) for a subsea vehicle system (such as an ROV), a drive head selection mechanism (30), and a method of use. The tool comprises a tool housing and a plurality of torque drive heads (22, 24, 26). The drive mechanism (17, 18, 20, 28) is operable to rotate the plurality of torque drive heads, and the drive head selection mechanism is used to select a drive head to impart a torque to a subsea device. The drive head selection mechanism comprises a rotary actuator (14, 32), and rotation of the rotary actuator effects axial movement of at least one of the plurality of drive heads between an operative position and an inoperative position. In another aspect, the drive head selection mechanism comprises an actuator operable from the exterior of the torque tool. In a preferred embodiment, the drive heads are sockets (22, 24, 26), and the selection mechanism comprises a rotary actuator and a cam mechanism. The at least one socket may be permitted to rotate with respect to the cam mechanism when a driving torque is applied to the torque sockets.
