    • The loader device comprises a cartridge-carrying carousel provided with a set of cartridge-holders in which sealed closed cartridges are mounted in removable manner, each cartridge being designed to contain a sample for processing in a space furnace, the device further comprising a control mechanism for imparting indexed rotary drive to the cartridge-holders. The carousel is mounted to one side of the furnace in such a manner that its axis of rotation is parallel to longitudinal axis of the furnace. Each cartridge-holder of the carousel co-operates with a transfer mechanism that includes a translation arm extending perpendicularly to the axis of rotation of the carousel to enable each cartridge to be brought successively into a working position in which the axis of the cartridge is in alignment with the longitudinal axis of the furnace. The control mechanism for imparting rotary drive to the cartridge-holders and the transfer mechanism are activated alternately by a single electric motor.

    • Heatable or coolable portions of a double band press or a single or multiplaten press have channels for a fluid heat carrier. In these channels, heat is exchanged by convection between the walls of the channels and the heat carrier fluid. Surface enlarging inserts of a material with good heat conducting properties are inserted into the channels in order to improve heat exchange. These surface enlarging inserts have a surface which is fastened to the walls of the channels in order to improve heat exchange. Several elements projecting into the flow of the heat carrier fluid emanate from this surface of the surface enlarging insert. The surface enlarging insert is composed of several identical or different individual parts which are fabricated separately and subsequently inserted into the channels in such a way that they have area contact with the wall of the channels.

    • A poppet valve in which a poppet is slidable in a valve body and opens or closes a main valve path for pressurized fluid at one end. The pressurized fluid is conveyed to a back pressure chamber at the rear of the poppet either through a reduced flow path or through a valve arrangement between the surfaces of the poppet and a poppet spool slidable within the poppet. Either a control rod or the poppet spool moving relative to the poppet opens a flow path at the side of the back pressure chamber and the flow continues through a hollow in the spool or the control rod to an oil chamber away from the back pressure chamber where it is released to a tank.
